hmm, my pioneer has 6.5v preouts but is it regulated from +6 to -24? i keep mine on -10 on sub preout and im gunna run active sometime soon n was wondering how much this varies cause the gain on my 4ch starts @ like 6v i think but my gain on my mids n highs are at -10 too @ 12db/oct n was wondering how much this effects anything amp wise? i dont mean to be off topic but i was gunna start comepeteing n was wondering if i should leave my subs gain level on the deck @ 0 and just turn the subs amp gain up n down? my deck goes to 40 and doesnt really distort at any levels from 0 to 40 really, and it has a shit ton of features n was wondering if this would more likely harm my subs or what from burpin em with sub gain higher than what i got it set to? anyways sundown looks like its doin somethin lol how do u like ur sony?

ya, dnt just str8 wire ur tweets to a fullrange amp it will blow em in a heart beat if i was u ied either run active or get a cheap 3 way xover n run ur amp active or just take the mids, run em on channel 1 n 2 or 3 n 4 doesnt really matter w/o xovers and run tweets on the opposite channels of the mids n run xovers to em just take the comp sets xovers n just take some speaker wire n run it to the input on the xover n then run wire from the tweet output to the tweets and just leave the mids out of the xover network just make sure there xovered pritty good at alteast 80htz or higher on the headunit or amp n u should be good and with the extra tweets, they should come with there own xovers so just wire them up normal, speaker wire from same channels as other tweets pos n neg n wire into second tweets xover input n then tweet output to tweet n u should have a 2ohm load for tweets maby i unno n 4ohm for mids but if i was u ied run 2 sets of comps vs 1 set of comps with extra tweets but to each his own, hope this helps

how long has it done this for ? if u just have changed the ac compressor n had ur battery unhooked then it just boosts the voltage till the battery is charged n will go back down my truck does the same thing if it has been doin this for 3 days or so then somethings wrong, but if it just done it right after then theres no problem, its just boosting the voltage to charge the battery

and if ur voltage doesnt go back down to around 14v after a while ied have it checked cause the voltage regulator might be bad n could burn up ur alt if u aint carefull i kno mla moduals boost voltage n what knot too but it was made for that reason, if ur voltage doesnt go back down it might go up higher n burn up something i think mine ran at like 15.6v for 2 days i think n then went back down to 14.4-14.8 just in cold weather let ur batterys charge good befor u start wangin on ur stereo, they tend to loose voltage due to cold climates than hot-warm

if u unhooked the battery for a while n then hooked it back up the alt will bost the voltage till the battery is charged again this is how u can tell if a battery is charged or not from a battery charger, if the voltage goes from 15.xvolt to around 12.0-12.6 WHILE STILL HOOKED UP the battery is charged i had not known this till i at playin around with my truck and i had both my batterys unhooked n when i got done with my big three my voltage was at like 15.8v then went down to 14.4 or so its normal, its the internal voltage regulator that does this, i just wished i knew how to tap into it n set it to w/e i wanted to n leave it at that anyways hope this answeres ur question

lol, i think mtx should have left the sqares to kicker n stuck with round subs i kno square is more cone area but still, kicker patented it and have it pritty much down pat but still those subs do look really cool ied like to try out a set if i had the money, but ied soon stick to there round subs my mtx 8000's have alot of excursion but its more of a one way than both ways, i unno why it does that but the sub moves up i think more than it does down but that old mtx 8000 12 i had moved down n would not move up at all, the coil wasnt rubbing just when u hooked it up the sub only went down instead of up n down

i dled idump n it wouldn't work, only transfered maby 30 songs at most but my coppy trans worked perfect n transfered every single thing on my ipod

i dump only moves a few songs i use coppy trans control center to transfer my ipod songs, it costs $20 n works great

i'll check it tommrow n see what i got n thankx for clearing this up, i kno a bit about comps but not to much really lol
