you try grounding the rcas at the headunit? it helped on my older model pioneer but my new one dont have a whine at all, try that see if it fixs it, i useto have it in my sig on how to do it but i was told to make my sig smaller so i deleted it sry, but its been known to work with diff kinds of headunits, just rap a wire around the outer side of the rca, and ground it at the headunit and see if it makes a diff?

i would check the independace load on the amp from the subs cause who ever "re did" em prolly wired to low and the amp is clipping, ied wire it to 4ohm if possable for stock electrical, and if u get a yellow top if there able to it wire it 2ohm or 1ohm, i dunno if u can run a 1000wrms amp at 1ohm with just one battery, my truck didn't like it to good so i got my stinger sp800 in back n duralast gold 950amp in front and works fine for me, ied rewire the subs n see if that makes a diff, sometimes ppl mess with shit after ppl install stuff cause someone tells em "it can get louder if u do this" n then they do it and smoke, lol, and check how big power and ground wire he has, make sure its atleast 4guage or 0guage, and big three works a hell of a lot, i done the big three on my geo n went from 13.2v to 14.8v idle off stock alt, and if he dont want to buy another battery atleast get a good sized cap, they do work if u dont want to get another battery, but a good cap costs arond $260 and with that u can get a kenitik or 2 optimas from the guy sellin on here

those are called T taps not wire taps, those crimp over the wire and u crimp the male end onto the wire u want to connect and its done, darvex sells em

well when i go places with my gf/fiance i play subs just not that loud and prolly at 10 on volume, but when i have him in there i aint gunna be playin the sub(s) at all, its just gunna be for me when i go places, or when me and her go places n want to jam or w/e, and a prefab takes up the right amount of space i want to use, i might halfto modify my rear speakers tho cause that sub sits up to high and on the sides are were the 6&1/2's go for rear fill, i might cut out some holes in the bottom of the back and mount em there, and put the amps in the cubby holes, and prolly put the battery somewere else, i want the least amount of space but still have a decent sounding system, im just doin this to save money and when he gets a lil bit older i might redo it and do a half wall with 4 12's and a t2000 or somethin like that, ima go with somethin alot louder on down the road just not for now, and im listening to more country n rock now a days than rap, and i made a custom eq setting number 2 on the hu so when i want to play somethin but without subs i can just put it there n set my xovers and all i get is clean midbass, and it works out ok, anyways thanks for the input guys, and im not stuck on kicker i just want to try out square subs

no, i was gunna get my stuff from onlinecarstereo.com, but i like kicker stuff, i got kicker mids n highs so why not kicker subs? i dont want fi btl, dc, aa, dd, all i want is somethin that dont take up hardly any space but can take either 600@4ohm, 800@2ohm, 1000@1ohm rms, and sound good on anything, and ive never owned a l5/l7 befor, let alone a square sub so i think it would be cool, and will fit were i need it to also, and is at a decent price

well i was thinkin that to but i cant tune a box for shit and i know they can really sound good n get down ina ported box, but im lookin for minamal airspace/cf room takein up but still have somethin that will sound good n get decently loud, goin from 2 15's to 1 12 is a pritty good leap but i dont care i just need room behind my seats, i was gunna get the 4ohm version cause my local kicker dealer(sp) said on the 4ohm version they take the dual 2 and wire it in series to 4 so i can wire it to 1 and be good that away, 1000rms to one 12 should sound good i would think so, i heard one of the dual 12 l5 box at circuit city once ran from a 1200.1 and it sounded really clean so i think one 12 should work for what i want, im not lookin at hella loud, i just want somethin that dont take up much space, can handle the wattage i got, and sound good on diff types of music, and for a good price

i unno why but how come i cant search for this company on the net? my local shop sells this stuff its called, mobile engineering inc. hyper stream 8gauge 2conductor speaker wire, its like $3ft tho but is tight as hell and cleans up space alot, i love this shit tho i wonder if anyone can find a website that sells it cheaper, i think its the only 8guage speakerwire ive seen, not like runnin 8guage single conductors this has 2 in the same caseing just like 10guage speakerwire n so on, looks like other companys would do this or is it cheaper to buy 8guage single conductor wire vs 8guage dual conductor speakerwire? edit: it has some japaneese shit wrote on it also, but anyways most ppl run 12awg to subs so i unno why dual 14awg will hurt it, just as long as its not single 14awg, i dont think ur amp will like it lol

oh, and would a type s be better for my aplication sence there more of a sq sub or type r for power? type s is alot cheaper to tho, ima try tp get a set of 10's for under $300 if possable that have good sql perposes with .5cf encloser i think is how much i can give em with 500rms each
