the hids i got now are h4 so that houseing wont work? or could i get a set of hi/lows with 4 individual bulbs to replace those with n would it work or be kinda useless? i want hid hi/lows but i want em with projectors cause they are more focused cause my beam is wide but not far and i want a far beam

ok i found these headlights for my truck but i unno the bulb size cause theres 2 lights in it plus leds and i was wondering what this would be if it was high beams or what cause i was gunna get a set of futurevision hids h4 hi/lows and put my low beams in dads truck or what ever else they will go in and do projectors in my truck but i unno if these are what will acaully work right with my plans do these look right for a halo projector? and if those aint gunna work i was gunna get these to replace my factory lights what u think? and would be killer if someone could photoshop em ina 99 tacoma 4x4 for looks, anyways thankx for lookin and input welcome

i got a question, why not go to a radio shop n see if they got that same headunit u got n try another faceplate n see if they can sell u just another faceplate for ur radio, they aint expensive if its just that but if its the ribbon cable u could buy a bad headunit from a shop n just use it for parts, my buddy sold me some stuff like that befor cause he buys em in bulk n takes parts out of em to fix other headunits n waht knot cause its sometimes cheaper to buy another headunit from a buddy that runs a shop than a new one or have some other place fix it, i got a broke replacement deck for like 20-$40 n could part it out for stuff, n sometimes they work so u could have one that worked n do that, i dought u could get a 780 that cheap but its worth a shot maby a local shop could order u a replacement faceplate

is the x were he didn't crimp one of the wires right? maby theres a short in the box somewere makein it go into protect?

if subs are dual 4ohm and wired in parallel (both pos together, and both neg's together) n then to amp it should be 1ohm but unno why it would go into protect tho unless voltage drop, my memphis amp's protect light would have a hint of ilumination just slightly when the bass would hit when i had it @ 1ohm and its 1ohm stable prolly due to voltage drop but sence i got my single 4ohm subs hardly to none light dimming and louder to some extent, i like to be able to run an amp @ 1ohm but 2ohm seems to be more efficent on electrical every amp in my truck is ran 2ohm and sounds solid imo, try wireing em series parallel to 4ohm and see if it goes to protect

i agree with that, i think i need to reset my system cause the subs are playin a lil to high of a freq i think, and my midbass dont rly have words comein threw cause i cant hear the front comps so i halfto set them to lp but they can do better, i think i'll set my subs at 50, midbass at 80, and mids n highs at 100-160 on headunit n then set em by sound on the amps?

the hooptys lookin sick as hell but i got to wondering about somethin, i kno that the carputers a touch screan so that takes the mouse out of the question but what about a keyboard? and so i found this heres were u get it from http://www.virtual-laser-keyboard.com/ and it turns any solid surfice into a keyboard and it works via bluetooth i think and he could like set it up on center console and use that as his keyboard so if he gets wireless internet from like verizon or what knot he can type in web pages? just a thought tho and props on a clean ass install, im still amazed how u get all dem wires to fall into place lol

ive heard u could hook up external hd's to hu's with usb inputs? i was wantin to try that with a 500gb external hd but didn't kno if it would work, or if all elts fails get a car puter n email the songs to ur car? lol

well a good rule of thumb is anything thats carrying a load more than 5amp needs to be fused someweres and its just for safty, when i done the big three on my geo i fused the wire comein from alt to battery, my alt is around 75-80 amps n i put a 80 amp fuse in it, for an alt its best to go a lil over the amp rating on alt so if the amp trys to put out more current than rated it might blow the fuse, ied do someweres around a 80amp maxi or a 100amp anl fuse with atleast 4-0guage goin from alt to battery, i just got a small setup in my geo so i just done the big three in 4guage, ima do a big three in my truck with 0guage sometime soon tho just gotta figure out were all the wires go from battery tho, my voltage in my truck at idle is 14.4-14.5 or so with a 0guage ground and seems to work fine, but ied fuse it tho, better safe than sorry

the only advice i can give on the amp question is u only need a 4ch when u got more than 4 speakers, if u got 4 speakers u could run a good 2ch amp n run it at 2ohm and get more power that a way cause most 4channel amps need to be down to 2ohm befor u get much power from them and the only diff between the few is u can adjust rears to be louder or what knot n u could fade from front to back, and if ur bass over powers ur mids n highs u either need to get rid of factory and get a good comp set and a good amp all u really need is a 2ch but if u want 4channel thats fine to btu it wont be as much efficent power tho that away and it would strain the amp to produce the wattage at 4ohm that it should do at 2ohm, but if ur mids n highs distort when u turn it up if u have to much bass goin threw mids n highs u'll more than likely get clipping if ur not giveing em enulf power, all i can think of is adjust ur bass/mid/treb on headunit to compinsate for the distortion, it helped my setup and i can go all the way to 40(full tilt) with out any distortion and if ur sla on headunit is past 0 it will get more distorted i got mine set to 0 so i can use more volume than rather have it louder at a lower volume, hope this helps

already figured this out n made a thread just didn't put it in the right place http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=15452 and u do not halfto do each rca output only 1 of each and it will do the same thing, i had to do this with my 680mp but my 860 doesnt have any whine and i assume its to do with pre out voltages cause my 860 has 6.5 outs and my 680 had around 2-4v preouts and it seemed to happin with newer ones cause my 860 is older model premire and it doesnt have teh slightest whine at all but i always rap my wire around the rca instead of the out put terminal cause thers the chance a strand will go in the middle of the output terminal and short it out, i wished someone would inform pioneer about this problem cause it seems like everyone that got the ones from 04-06 and up has that problem, or some other sort of problem with it, and if anyone asks it doesnt matter what guage wire u use as long as its between 18-14 is fine no need to do 12guage or what knot, and it does work but doesnt take away all of the whine just 80% of it, its still audible when volume is 0 but once u turn it up it cant be heard

just my $.02 but if u lost that spaire tire couldn't u build a box n posably do aero's into cabbin with 90degree bends out of box? and do 4 12's fireing twards the trunk? about the loudest car ive heard was a 92 toyota camry with a tubbed trunk bottom and 4 mtx 8500 15's ran off 2 mtx 1501d's and he cut about 80% of the rear deck out to let air flow and that shit was loud, low n clean to, i aint ever done a ported threw rear deck befor but ive heard a monty carlo(sp) with 2 l7 12's ported threw rear deck with a 8''x20'' hole and a memphis msync 8'' coax(tweet made in middle or can be ran as seperates) and 6x9's in front kick pannels n that thing got loud as hell n was clear also, couldn't u do 3 l7 12's faceing rear seat sealed but ported threw rear deck? i asume taht would kinda be a bandpass but on another note u could build a port in the rear deck for tuneing and build a box around it kinda sorta do a couple 90degree bends to go into box with the 3 12's faceing trunk n u could do some pannels or a nice amp rack in front of subs would look good i think, and sound killer n i unno if anyones done that befor acually have a tuned port threw rear deck but this is just my $.02 man, good luck with ur build, the most ive seen in one of those cars was 4 l5 15's off 2 1250.1's sealed, sounded killer but trunk rattled to damn bad tho n they was fireing up also, anyways good luck wit what ur goin after man

only thing i can think of is, i shook somethin loose in my dash that makes a horible sound, shook the grill loose on teh front of my truck now it wont stay "tight" it moves to much, ive shook mmy door pannel off from door flexin n also from door flexin i cracked the cone on my left mid by it some how, other than that not much from there, i like the way my truck flexs but when i had my 5500's in there it had a diff amount flex but not as loud as my 8000's but there not even gettin there full rms there 500rms 1000wpeak, and my friend had a setup with 4 mtx 8000 12's on 2 mtx 1501d's so i kno mine can handle a lil more but for only gettin 400rms each so far they sound awesome but i kno they can do more lol, but anyways my truck is sealed up pritty good from factory but all i kno that vibrates in my back glass with sliders and that sound anoys the shit out of me and i unno how to fix that i just had it replaced from when someone threw a beer bottle threw it, but other than that i unno if i got enulf power to "break" somethin on my truck
