umm my subs are mtx 8000's not audiobbahns , can someone designe me a box for my MTX's plz?

get u one of those led flexable strips and put behind it, alot more light output than that lil neon and aint much diff price wise and dont draw that much current eather, and u could just stick it in there and should brightin it up a bit more, just my $.02 anyways good job on how it looks, better than i could of done, were u pick up that sandblaster thing?

midbass ftw? lol that chevy impala/rolls royce is a soft top with 8 12's in the back and it gets down, i aint heard it in life but i seen some vids and it looks like it gets it real good, so im guessin it takes more cone area to get loud ina drop top than it does ina hardtop, but thats my $.02, hope this helps

i nail my boxs together, i dont use woodscrews cause i dont like em, im better with a brad nailer than i am a screw driver on buildin boxs, i use 1&1/2-3/4 nails to put it together with wood glue and my box is still together and i pound on it everyday, i aint used a screw sence the 90's, now i dont hate usein screws to build boxs, but i have better luck with nails tho, and i always use burch plywood cause somehow burch has a good resonance like when they make instruments with it, but anyways i use cylicone cauk in the seams, woodglue in the joints and brad nails to put together, but thats just me

verry white as in hot or white as in crossion? cause if its that hot somethis shorted out bad, but put a fuse in line with ur alt, 150amp-200amp no more than 200 i dont guess if ur alts bigger, and did u upgrade the ground from the motor to the chasis and from bat neg to body? if not then ur tryin to push to much current into the batt but not let it flow right so it aint chargeing efficently, but on the not wantin to start right all i can see that might be wrong is a bad ground, bad battery or a short somewere

i got a set of mtx 8000 15'' single 4ohm subs and here is the tech sheet http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/manua...subs/T8154A.pdf now im wondering if i can run these ported without messin em up, i got 400rms goin to each and they handle 500rms but my friend did a install ina mazda with 4 mtx 8000 12's single 4ohm hooked up to 2 mtx 1501d's and they took it like a champ but they was sealed and im not sure how good these will sound ported tho, i like sealed bass but i like somethin that will play lows like nothin else, and if not the these can i port these there mtx 5500 15 dual 4 heres the tech sheet on these http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/subwo...ta_T5515-44.pdf now if it aitn to much trouble could someone do a quick google sketchup of a ported box for both of these subs to see what would sound better? the amp i got is a memphis prd1000.1 it does 600rms@4ohm, 800rms@2ohm and 1000rms@1ohm and i was wondering what would get louder, i mean i can tell a big diff taht the mtx 8000's sound alot better than the 5500's did, or i might just build one of those 5500 boxs and throw it in my geo and see what it sounds like, but anywho need help on designin a ported box for the mtx 8000's plz

ive heard alot about this also, but the only ways ive heard it to work right is with a bandpass im guessin cause some are tuned higher or somethin like that, and on unique whips when they did that one convertible with the jbl gti 10's or 12's inverted in lil boxs on the back seats or were they were it shouldn't of sounded to bad but there more for show than go i guess, anyways good luck with what ur doin man

unless u use air powered motors, the buffer i useto use at work to polish the tops of drexle heritage cases ran at 6000rpm and ran off of 90psi so if u have an air compressor that can run that constant or have a big enulf tank then i think its possable, but ya u can get a 100amp power converter for around $300 or so and run a kentic 2400 in line with it and call it a day, my buddy uses em like that, take a 20amp power converter and wire ina car battery and then to the distplay and do it like that and works fine, but anyways good luck with what ur doin man

if the 4runner is somewhat of the same vehicle as a tacoma will it fit a 99 4wd, im thinkin cause those are automatic lockin hubs and mines manual hubs and those would look sick as hell on my truck but i dought they will fit, damn i want some 20'z on my 4wd but cant find nothin for less than 2000 to bolt onto it thats chrome, anyways good luck with the sale man, and bump for some sick lookin wheels

i got good grounds, shealded rcas and good power wire routeing and i still got it, it just all of a sudden showed up on me and this is the only way i could fix it

well a good rule of thumb is, for mids n highs u want somethin like 100-200htz cross over on those so no low bass like 20htz goes to em, but u can set that threw the amp, just make sure u set the amp in acordance with what ur playin ur subs at, like i got my subs set to 50htz on the headunit and mids n highs set to 120htz on the hpf thing but as long as u use the cross over and dont put much bass at all threw them i think somethin down to 200htz should be fine with that power just make sure u set it right with that power and u should be fine, just make sure u get some baffle guards like those foam inserts somethin like this http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=260-790 so they dont over excurt them selfs and u'll be fine, is there gunna be subs or just these for mids n highs? anyways hope this helps, oh and power wise, anything nere peak watts is ok but keep the cross over set good and u'll be set, ied give em anywere 75-150 if u want to, i gave a 40watt 4'' coax in my geo 100wrms and it took it no prob just set ur cross over to 100htz or better and ur fine, 80htz if there no subs

lol i dont kno why i put it here tho, but i guess cause the sound comes from the mids n highs i guess, how do i move it to the electrical section? well sence its more of an rca deal it aint rly electrical related ecept for the ground so i guess its find here, i'll take pics of my headunit sometime to show how i got mine, its been like thsi for a yr now and no more wine noise

i might aught to take pics of it to show how its done and u only need to do one rca on each channel, subs shouldn't have ground loop noise, but if rcas are nere power wire move them and should work then, mine was my headunit tho cause i went threw 2 or 3 sets of rcas just to find out a lil bit of wire would fix it all

lol, ground loop isolators dont work ive tryed it many times i got a titorial on how to do this in my sig http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=15452 do as stated i put pics, and again those isolators dont work i baught about $30 worh of em and there just paper waights do it this way and will work good, i might take out my headunit and show how i got mine done so ppl can see better

man i want dem rockfords i got my set off a friend for 150 but 200 is doable and they was the best subs i had, are they dual 4ohm or dual 2? i had mine ran off a mtx 500d and they slumped somethin wicked and i acually think i can get those louder than my mtx 8000 15's cause those cerwin vega vmaxx 12s i had was louder than my mtx5500 15's, but sorry to clutter up ur thread but are these well takein care of and will handle 500rms dayly? im not sure if i'll get the money or not now that im gettin payed every 2 weeks, so if u want to sell to who comes first man, thats my old setback tho, but ied love to get another set of these and do a upfireing ported box for em would be sick, i tryed mine ina sealed box and they sounded like crap but a prefab ported and they slumped, anyways good luck on ur sale man

man i want those kickers i had a set of 10's like that and they fukin pounded, if i can get the money ied get 2 of em, are they dual 4ohm or single 4ohm? would make some good midbass's or mid/sub bass's for my truck or run in my geo off my majestic 300 how many watts did u have goin to em? hell i might get all 3 if we can work somethin out good, aint 3 4ohm subs like 1.5ohm with independance rise?

how much was those hifonics subs and how much are the wattage on those ied like a set for my geo, i got a 300w majestic amp i would put on em tho

maby a humidafyer(sp), one of those things that mists constantly for ppl with colds n sutch to keep em cool, ied try one of those and plumb it into the box and try that, if not i unno thats my only option i can think of, or get a little water pump from lowes or homedepot that goes into outdoor figurens and plumb it with a little fitting on the end so it mists and try that and see if that works, thats all i can think of man, good luck with what ur doin

so headunit still plays but sub amps not on there ran threw a relay ona switch i presume, maby ur acc wire came loose and went in contact with the 12v wire so its on all the time or switch is messed up, take the headunit out and see if anything came undone and if all else fails take off the faceplate so it will turn off and go from there might be ur only option unless somethin came loose behind the unit yellow is constant 12v, red is acc on the ignition, and black is ground, look and see if the yellow came in contact with any other wire is the only thing i can tell ya or somethin came loose in the headunit but if u want to turn it off just take off the faceplate and then try it when u get time take it out and hook some test leads with a light in it and see if anything other than yellow has constant 12v while car is off, hope this helps and good luck man wit ur prob

hmm, plexi tubes or pvc and wont that throw off tuneing? but all in all that box looks sick as hell good job designin it and good luck on buildin it, might be better off with leds, there brighter and dont take nere the current to run
