  1. Okay. Let me try to break it down for you this way... Four 10s equal around ..... 314 square inches Three 12s 340 square inches Two 15s 353 square inches Now, I say around XXX square inches because this is going to change slightly based upon the subs surround. Go with two 15s, they have more cone area. If you want to do this on the cheap. Go with a RF T10001bd from High Desert Audio on ebay for 250. Make sure you buy DUAL 4 OHM subs so you can run it at one ohm. Or you could get a Sundown 1500 for around 350 to 400 and get DUAL 2 OHM sub so you can run it down to .5 ohms. The sundown with whatever subs at .5 ohms will be louder. I am running a RF T10001bd with two RF T115s and i can bassrace in the 139.9 class all day. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=17772
  2. I am going just based upon cost vs. the outpower an a T10001bd from HDA on ebay is the best power vs money. I hear a lot of people saying these subs won't take this amp. An i would agree most of the time. But look at it like this, if you put NOS on your car, will it take a shot every time you hit the gas.... no. I don't care what anyone says you can put a 5000 watt amp on a 150 watt rms sub and it last for years... IF YOU PLAY IT RIGHT. If you are like a friend my mine that has everything maxed out, its not going to take it.
  3. I want to say this before I get lots of hate messages... I am not one to say XXX brand sucks or XXX brand is better etc.... But a RF T10001 bd will walk all over that 2000 watt Hifonics. What REALLY makes a bassracer is the song. It is the song that is more important then the equipment. The wrong song will make a 149.9 car seem like a 119.9 car. Meaning: if your car peaks at 53Hz and you are trying to bass race with a song that peaks at 38, you are going to lose. Also I see a lot of beginners using a song with a beat that varies to much.
  4. you people have way to much time on your hands. I think after some Taco bell i can get a 150ish. might need an aero port to help with the tuning i think...
  5. Two of the kicker cvr 15s with a rockford t10001 You can get a good deal on ebay: kickers 240 shipped RF amp 260 shipped (from HDA on ebay) 500 dollars you can have a system with the possibility of getting into the mid 140's on a tune and a 139.9 bassracer Edit: on the other hand 4 12's have more cone area. but if you a limited on space like you say.... its up to you 4 12s might cost you more then 2 15s box size should be around 5 to 6 cubes for the 15s and 7 to 8 cubes for the 12s
  6. its bryn for short thats all i ever call her, sorry i used an i instead of a y... Besides, Diane writes the Christmas cards...
  7. True, I will give you that, you had your hands full. Next time I don't want to hear any lip...ha Whats really sad is my wife drives this car all the time. I only get it twice a month just to do the competing....
  8. Man, the flexing vids didn't turn out that great... but i guess its not bad for a 1k amp...
  9. I must say, that is the best looking box you have ever made and yes I am stalking you.
  10. I don't want to be a buzz killer but from what I understand Neons don't meter well. A plus for a creative box...
  11. not if your box is so big that it blocks off air flow into the cab area i tried subs back, had no air flow, now i have subs up and port forward... this metered my best numbers to date
  12. for whatever reason factory systems run at a higher ohm load. replace the speaker with the same ohm rating and you should have no problems.
  13. I have a 140 amp one wire hook up alt. Problem is the car sat for a while and now the alt. doesn't turn on. Before all i had to do was rev the engine a little and I could hear it turn on. Well I start the car now and the alt. is a no go... Any ideas?
