  1. You can make the section read only, heck you can even make one of the human verification questions at time of registration something like "what is the minimum post count to sale?" you could do a lot of things. it wont matter. People will try anyway, then make a thread asking "why cant i do stuff?"
  2. I'm guessing this has the 4.3 v6 in it, I pretty sure a 350 will fit easy, Then you could probably put 3 alts on it. I doubt you want to do an engine swap though. Man, I can't wait to see what you do though.
  3. Ok, "Troll" was a strong word. I just meant i thought you were teasing us and just buying a utility van for your shop. Guess i was way off. You seem to be serious about putting a system in this so i can't wait for that. Since you put 8 18's in a caddy already i'm curious how you will top that. I can hear those gears in your head trunin' Steve, and your installs are always impressive. Since I know you are the type to never move on anything until you have at least an outline of what you want to do can i ask, what goals you have already set for this project?
  4. $5 says Steve is trollin us' lol. Anyone remember the rascal scooter thread?
  5. Also, now i have to pull all this stupid roofing tar off my damn door skin. I have a heat gun which will help, but the residue is what scares me. Why the fawk did I listen to EXO?!? Damn you EXO!!!
  6. I think it sucks, i used it, and everyones results will differ. In a newer vehicle that is already fairly quiet you will probably notice better results. It took me three layers to get any noticeable difference. At that rate I could just buy SS or dynamat and do one layer.
  7. The op is also comparing 1/0 cca to 0ga ofc. I would go with the 0ga ofc.
  8. That's great, but how to become a paid member is not obvious. Where is the link to contribute?
  9. I just deleted cookies and stuff for this site restarted my browser and i still have ips community. But you guys are right the black red theme i saw before logging in had the smd logo. So it's only the blue/white theme.
  10. Noticed this today but i don't see any threads about it. Where it use to say SMD Forums or whatever now it says IPS Community. I'm talking about the thing in the upper left corner of the forum pages. Did this happen with the most recent forum update?
  11. Well, we have lots of temp help come through. This one girl does smile a lot, but she hasn't spoke to me.. Doesn't matter anyway, I'm happily married
  12. We have all had it happen, park in a parking lot, go in the mall or whatever and when you come out you have some stupid flyer or pamphlet on your windshield under your wiper blade. Well, something kind of like that happened to me the other day, except this was at my work. No one ever fessed up to doing it and i have no idea where this thing came from. It's home made and i think it is frikin awesome. I just am so confused about how it got there. Enough chatter, here is what i found What the hell!?!
  13. So i got this: I checked full headers before i opened the email and it's from The email that sent this was [email protected] I replied to this email and the idiots haven't deleted it yet. Should i send them a ton of stupid emails?
  14. My car has the same issue, It's old and there is no factory plug in the dash. The fuse is good but the switch wont turn on the headunit. I ran a new wire to the battery positive from the yellow wire, and ran a wire from the red wire to a fuse that did shut off when the ignition was off.
  15. I still want to know, if you have a center port slot port box, the type the 90's off to two ports in the back of the box (2 sub style), can that help reduce port noise if you have a triangle in the back of the port? Assuming the walls follow the angle and keep the width uniform. Edit: inb4 this is a "vs" thread now.
  16. I want to ask, if 45's don't help, in the airspace for the subs, what about in the back of the port on slot ports that two ports that 90' into one?
  17. I like the precut from the hardware store idea, if you have to use a circular saw you can easily enough cut one side of the 45 with a fence from a larger sheet of wood. Cut the piece long enough to do all you 45's. Then cut the other side. Easier than working with small pieces
  18. pics work for me, also nice score, also also hot chick, insert obligatory "in mother russia" joke here
  19. Yea, it's not really a "vs". Either the amps listed do rated or they don't and that is the question. It was just worded weird. edit grammar
  20. Wall. lol, i have a 87 honda accord, In it sub up port up is peaky as hell. Sub back port back works well, im going sub up port back next time;
  21. Mounting to the side of the trunk can be tricky. I don't know if velcro would hold the weight. Usually in a trunk te are gussets, metal the is 90 degrees off te trunk wall that strengthens it. Do you have a picture of the location you want to mount your amp? If there are gussets near by you could use them as a place to mount to, or mount a mount to mount to. If that makes sense.
  22. You could build it so the walls go around the base, then attach the top with nice looking screws. I guess you are putting in a plexi window and stuff. You could double the wall thickness up and use threaded inserts and counter sink the screws in the lid. Lots of options. Is the pic below kind of wat you are going for? minus the lid of course.
  23. There is a tread by tony around here that says you cant get an exact reading for wattage based on timing and phase of voltage and amperage. Basically, Volts X amps will give wattage, and volts/amps will give impedance. .
