If you watch this, When Steve is setting high-pass he has a down arrow on the cc-1 but he turns the filter up. You said you tried that so i don't know. Go to 5:30 in the video to see what i mean. Maybe you should e-mail damore at this point unless someone smarter than me has another idea. High pass and infrasonic are the same procedure

I noticed you said you put volume at 0 then bring it up till you get signal, but just now you said volume is at 26 (unclipped). So where are you turning volume down at?

Ok, one other thing where is the amp gain and h/u volume? Maybe you are clipping and don't know it? That may cause an issue.

Like i said grasping at straws, If you can unhook it and still get signal to the amp go for it. Or if it's an in-line gain knob try to by-pass it. I'm running out of ideas, Thing is it's probably some small thing you are missing(no offence) or there is something wrong with the thing. I'm going to try to google your issue to see if anyone else has had this issue, For some reason I remember this coming up before.

I was going to ask this last night but my crappy internet quit working. Keep in mind i am grasping at straws at this point. 1. Are the speakers un-hooked? 2. Is there a infrasonic/subsoninc filter on the h/u or is there an e.q. between the amp and h/u 3. H/U bass boost or signal processing of any kind on the h/u or amp (i.e clarion has "mb-ex and beq and loudness) Al three could possibly cause problems)

Alright, Dumb Question, did you hold off for 1 second before you tried to set the infrasonic? and when it tells you to turn it down have you tried to just go ahead and turn it up to see if it gives you a calibration light? edit Ninja^^

Well, what freq are you trying to set you LPF at and what is the lowest freq on your amp's lpf?

Bigger than recommend by manufacture will usually make it play lower notes better. But you may lose some "tightness" to the bass. Less control with more air. So you have to be careful with over powering subs sealed if you go too big. Less cooling in sealed boxes too. You could do a couple things, Build big then put wood inside the box to make the air space less if you don't like it or build small and throw poly fill to mimic a larger enclosure. 1lb of poly is about 1/cuft. It kinda works sometimes.

The original of this isn't very bassy, but these guys did a version and i think it sounds better than the original. Gots extra bass too. Now if i could only find an mp3...

I think the 10's look like a good option for you. It would give you some wiggle room if you need to build the box bigger if it needs to be tuned lower. Not sure how much height you have under the seat after you are sitting on it so maybe you could build slightly shorter. Those sundowns move a bit, but i don't see the xmax listed on their site.

Did you figure sub displacement in the volume you will have?

If someone manages to get a foot through those then they are trying way too hard. I'm thinking that putting those so far up are going to really help bring the bass up front. Wonder how that would feel having kick drum slammin' against your back and the snares and tom's punching you in the chest?

Well, SonsHonda refunded my money so I called them. Turns out all the stuff for the 80's Hondas are discontinued. FML Well guess it's back to making them from scratch. lol At least It's a reputable enough business that they sent the money back instead of giving me the run-around.

No harm, It's always difficult to purvey tone of voice over the internet. What you said read a bit negative to me so that's how i took it. It an 87 LXI accord. And I have to replace a lot of plastic in this thing. lol. Guys at work give me crap about doing all this for just an 87 accord, but I don't have anything better to do and if figure I have no car payment so why not? I googled it many times and had no luck finding new ones. I only entertained used ones after i couldn't find new ones on the internet(i won't buy used over the internet from just anyone). Ii was going to make new ones, that's what this thread was about. I purchased those new ones right after i got that link and am going to glass them up to put in 5 1/4's using the thread you made for instuctions. I only need my old broken drivers side one to practice on and then i am good to go. As it stands right now im in $92 for the new pillars not counting the cost of supplies, speakers and my time into doing this project. I am not lazy, i have put a lot of time into my car and it may not be the most beautiful build here, it is all done by me. I may be cheap, but not at the cost of quality. There is nothing wrong with trying to save a buck. And this car is a total pita to get parts for, everything has been discontinued by Honda, most vendors either don't have specialty parts like this one, or they are expensive and/or used. I don't know why you were compelled to come in here, I only asked for advice on how to do this project. These forums are a great source of info and I enjoy being part of it. I forgot all about your thread on how to make a pillar posts from scratch, but Robert brought it up and reminded me. 87 accord LXI (the hatchback) I don't know if the pillars are different in the hatch than the coupe so fyi and all that.

I haven't found one in a junkyard in my area, but i have tried lol. I never considered foam before. I will look into that.

Lets assume for the moment that i don't have any "A" pillar trim pieces in my car. Lets also assume that finding them would be either almost impossible or if i did find them they would be old and brittle and useless. So I need to make new "A" pillar trim pieces. This is where I need help. How do i do it? I have given this some thought and I think by starting with putting down foil on the existing metal pillar and covering everything else with plastic would be step 1. But where to go from there is the problem I need to glass on the existing pillar to get the shape right and then be able to remove the piece once it has cured. How would you recommend doing it?

Chances are he blew one up the rest have crispy coils. Take a multimeter with you, maybe a wire just fell off one.
