  1. That box looks like it would be east to convert to slot port. Put in the back of a pt cruiser painted like gravedigger!
  2. if it blows right when you hook the power and ground up? amp is fucked.
  3. since you voided your warranty, just open it up and look for burnt or melted parts.
  4. i thought it was smoke before fire? man i got cheated out of going first.
  5. Yep, I had it backwards. Still, I would set at -5db if you are getting smoke. Or add a bass control knob. Kind of hard to hear clipping in bass.
  6. isn't track 5 a 1k tone at -10db? i think it 1k 0db, 40hz 0db, 1k -5db, 40hz -5db, 1k -10db, 40hz -10db. so reset the gains with track 3, 40hz at -5db. sub amps use the 40hz tone with xovers and eq's off, mid and stuff use the 1k tones.
  7. Boss Audio R1002 2-Channel Mosfet Power Amplifier well, i don't want to say anything mean here but, you made two mistakes it would seem.
  8. or, did you set gains with -10db and then play something with -1db bass?
  9. Probably toast, but you could always open it up and look for burnt up stuff. Sometimes there is a diode that will fry if you hook it up wrong. So if your lucky you just cooked a cheap diode.
  10. check the fuse(s) and hook it up the right way and see. or did you do that already?
  11. There are tons of retailers out there, sonix, amazon and others. Just double check the hole size in the ring to make sure it matches what you are hooking it to.
  12. They arent that bad, it's just easier to use the second style. The first ones have a lip at the base and it's kind of hard to tell if you got it soldered all the way. And yeah, i use a propane torch and a pair of vice grips since most the time i am by myself when i do this stuff.
  13. Sorry, about the messy first post. the forums were not letting me use the links i was using. I can tell you what not to buy, those ring terminals they sell at auto parts places that look like this they suck to solder, it's what i used cause i'm inpatient. You have to get the solder in from the wire side and it's a bish. As long as you use this style you should be ok, don't forget the heat shrink tubing! and ANL fuse holders are pretty you might want to "tin" the bare wire to get a better connection. tinning is just coating the wire in solder.
  14. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's something custom made for Steve since the lyrics say "Steve Meade bass make the crowd go woo" Probably something Chicken made for him.
  15. Where were you 2 weeks ago?! Dammit I did all that work for nothing! lol
  16. so where do you check voltage? at the amp?
  17. I set with the -5db tracks and have a pac volume control on my bass amp set at half when i set gains. Then i can adjust it up on stuff that needs help or down, well never..
  18. your amp is under the hood?
  19. Guess Steve gets what Steve wants...
  20. my dad, says it says it sounds like an alternator, he wants to know if that's a ford? also he said what kickass said, remove the belt and check it all.
  21. Those come in d2 and d4, so i'm going to ask what ohms and also coils in series or parallel? than i'm going to go out on a limb and say i have heard subs in a ported encloure playing at the tuned freq will move the least amount compared to other freq. but i could be wrong on that one.
  22. I've heard putting a small capistor in line with your power wire to say you e.q. or line driver can eliminate this. here is an article about it. http://www.caraudioh...bleshooting.htm I think it kind of works like a soft on/off circuit.
  23. maybe water pump listen to this one of course you would think it would do it all the time if it was.
  24. ^^ You can use a "slot" or regular screwdriver too, touch somewhere on the engine with it and put your ear to the handle. but yeah be careful man.
