  1. Um, isnt the DD-1 for both the Headunit and the amp? I dont understand why you're asking that?? I believe he asked because he didn't know, hence the question marks behind his statement. Looks like hes giving advice on something he doesnt know himself though

  3. If you dont know how to tune correctly I suggest getting a SMD DD-1 You dont need any electrical upgrade for these subs to hit hard Im running 12v steady 4g wire 1500.1 Skar on 2 12's. Tuned with the SMD DD-1 and the only "upgrade" per say in my Legacy GT would be that I have an extra Kinetik 1400 in the trunk from my old system. With that said, Im just waiting for my new box to come in, but I had zero problems with lights dimming, or pushing the subs. I feel like they could take more power, but they do get alittle warm, so Im not 100% sure if its the subs or just me being paranoid.
  4. I mean this. Its not sealed at all in the inside, if it is. I cannot tell at all. The box itself is solid, just no caulk and I can tell it will leak air easily. However, with that being said what do you expect from great prices and fast shipping? Box is well designed imo for a simple 12 box. Carpet is fine as well. Just no Caulk which over time will cause leaks just because there isnt visible sealant doesnt mean it isnt sealed. when i build enclosures, i make my cuts straight and the glue i put it together with seals it up. This is true, but to do that you need some good poxy. otherwise its fail. You've might down cabinet work, but Ive also owned my own construction company for 8 years. Im not retarded. Regardless, its not a big deal hes taking care of it. Like I told him I could care less about visual appeal. More then Functionality. I told him to paint it pink and call it a day Why not build your own then? I dont have spare time. I work full time 40 + hours, plus trainer @ a gym 3 hours every night. It took me 2 weeks just to install my system / run wires. Saturday, I have set aside for females and errands. Some personal time, and Sunday I make up for what I didnt do on Saturday. Why not pay someone to do it for me when it cost roughly nothing?

  6. Ya, I already got the "pre tracking" for fedex, so Im assuming it will be this week.
  7. Seems like it might not be the 7 days - Already got a pre-tracking #, so Im assuming it will be shipped this week, not next?
  8. Just wanted to update - Spoke to Kevin on the phone, stand up guy. We've came to an agreement. Zero Complaints on this side. Just a minor hiccup
  9. I might have missed it, how long does shipping usually take? I just put the order in and paid for it. Where I live I need to know a estimation because I have to pick it up that day or else the idiots will take it back to the post office and then I'll be waiting another 24 hours to grab it. I saw it said 7 days, BEFORE it shipped is this still the case? those post were back when it first came out, so Im assuming stock has been built up since then? Thanks
  10. Casey, I am sorry about this - not exactly sure what happened but we will rebuild you a new box that meets our standards and ship it asap at our cost. I dont know either, I tried to make it work by shooting them at an angle, but still didnt. I even used "white out" to mark it just to make sure I wasnt crazy, but when I realized there was so much "toggle" room with the sub being able to move around ( up, down / left, right . etc ) I knew there was going to be a problem. On a side note:: Amp and Subs work great other then that. I was impressed how hard it slams for the 3 tracks I had it running. Definitely worth the money if the box didnt flake out.
  11. Not to mention when you put the sub in the hole, there is way to much "sway" you can move it all around, way more then the norm.
  12. I meant if the subs dont fit, sorry. lol Anyways. I tuned the subs fine, had them in the box. Listened to 3 tracks and on the 3rd a sub fell out of the box. Luckily I was @ the gym when this happened. I came home and pulled the box. The screws BARELY had any wood to snag on to. There was less then a "credit card" width of wood between every screw and the edge. I knew it would not work. The left side is fine, however the right side ripped out. nice box. http://s47.photobucket.com/albums/f177/aimology/Skar%20Audio/ as you can see its almost like a "slice" of paper worth of grip of wood. You cant tell, but I can get better pictures and use a camera this time.... that when they cut that side, they must of used something to "shave" of extra because the whole is "warped"... and that little "shave" they did ruined that whole. I could care less about the seal, the cheap carpet glue or the smeared black paint running down the slot. I have zero care in the world for looks, its in my trunk, just a daily driver I zoom in. However, I do care when I cant even use it. This will be another what? 2, 3 4 weeks of waiting for something to happened and Ive already waited over 2 months. Kevin seems like a stand up guy, I even brought him a few customers, also I know you get what you pay for and its a hell of a deal. I even bought a skar 1500.1 from him, but business and business and I have no useable box at the moment which is not good.
  13. I finally have everything installed, I shot the screws in at a angle and it worked. My trunk is fully sealed and I have them driving towards the lid ( Legacy GT Limited Edition ) - I dont know if down the road it will cause an issue from "coming loose" after some use or not because the board it self is thick on the front panel, however since there was "little" edge to screw into Im sure it did not grip alot. I did pull on the lids to see if they would come loose and they did not. As for the port, nothing is rounded its a perfect L shape. It seemed to do the job. I drove around the block with my deck @ low volume , Ive yet to tune anything, just to verify my connections. I had the amp gain barely up and everything else @ 0, nothing to cause damage just to make sure all my connections etc etc were solid and it worked, but called it a night because it was 1am. Since I work from 11 - 8 and then train @ a gym from 9 - 11, plus eat like a tank. I have hardly no spare time during the week... I will mess with it more tonight and I brought my DMM to work, so going to play with the actual gains. I had it turned off on the ride this morning, so if anything happens Im 100% sure its not on my end and its on theirs.
  14. Ya, I dont know yet. Im going to look @ it more tonight and see what can be done.
  15. I agree with this. Carpet could have been done much cleaner. If it was me I would recarpet it because it looks very uneven. No hate though, still a fantastic price for what you're getting famous saying goes, "get what you pay for" True, however carpet glue is cheap, they could easily get something better then whatever generic shit they use. Its pretty cheap if it cant hold carpet. Better off user super glue then this stuff..... Also, a hole cut to big is NOT acceptable, makes the box not useable. Hopefully I can rig it by firing a screw in at an angle, which should not have to be done. As far as the cheap carpet job / uneven who cares. I'd rather it just be sanded and painted personally, but if you're going to carpet at least glue it correctly, so its not peeling off within 48 hours........ Im happy with the price, the biggest concern is the hole being to big to fit the screw in. If I cant make this work its unacceptable and a useless box. Rest is just minor flaws.
  16. I can tell you a few things from my box 1) the carpet started peeling off on the front before I even started putting the subs in 2) the left ( wire terminal side ) is to big for the sub, I cant even get 2 screws in correctly because there is not enough wood left to "grip" with a screw I put the sub on the box and used "white out" ( what you use to cover pen marks when writting ) to mark where the holes would go, so I could drill/start the screws and its slightly to big on that side. Im going to try to get lucky and shot one at an angle to make it work tonight. Seeing how I had to install my kenitek batteries and cut this Knu Koncept insulated wire which took me forever. I was to exhausted to play with something else that did not work "perfectly".
  17. Dont even need big 3 - Battery is fine.

However, with that being said what do you expect from great prices and fast shipping? Box is well designed imo for a simple 12 box. Carpet is fine as well. Just no Caulk which over time will cause leaks The boxes are all glued together before we use brad nails on them to assemble. Not only is this done, but we also use a light layer of bondo on the outside before carpeting. Enjoy your box Well theres that and I will enjoy it to the fullest!
