  1. Don't make fun of somebody because they don't know better, I'm sure there was a time where you didn't know everything as well. If its not broke, don't fix it OP.
  2. Well, my car on topic is from 1989, interior plastics are pretty weathered and kind of dull from sun abuse, I like the look of rhinoline and it's easy to keep clean. I'm not sure if I'll ever get around to trying it but if it slightly helps reduce road vibrations that's a plus for those who care about that sort of thing. If you're trying to insult me please use complete sentences in your next effort. It's really very simple. I wish I post whored to be cool :/
  3. I'm currently working on the setup in my sig, two 15's @32hz and 3kish Previously was two 12's @34hz and 3k. It sounded good but not low enough for me. I like how 15's sound personally.
  4. If you have $300 to spend buy a better subwoofer.
  5. I'm working on the same goal with my 89 civic hatch! Haha.
  6. I live in Detroit and search Chicago all the time. I would gladly drive to Chicago for a great deal and a slice of pizza. Search harder.
  7. stock speakers and they sound crystal clear to you? i think you'd be fine with any of the options you gave yourself. go with the cheapest and easiestto install Stock out of a 2012 suburu STi, yes.
  8. Search Craigslist. I picked up two 15" t1's for less than you want to spend, I even got a cheap "2k watt amp" and a vmax charge tank included.
  9. Does your head unit have a low pass filter? Start there if it does. I have stock door speakers currently with my low pass set at 125hz and the vocals are crystal clear in front of two 15's at 3/4 volume.
  10. Rockford t1/t2 would be my personal choice, cheap, reliable, readily available. There are many other great options but that's going to be based on your available enclosure space and personal goals.
  11. Anybody ever tried rhino liner for sound deadening? I've been considering gutting my interior plastics and carpet and trying it out just because I like the look but have no idea how well it deadens. In theory it should do fine though?
  12. The shifter linkage is wobbly because of worn shifter bushings. Not motor mounts. You can buy energy suspension shifter bushings on eBay for <$15 if you're mechanically inclined, install them yourself. Replace the motor mounts with stock replacements unless you can handle the vibration of the urethane mounts. Take out your bump stops and it should quiet it down a bit as well. Here's my rig........
  13. Is your car making the noise? Or is it road noise? Check motor mounts and exhaust hangers before deadening. I have a 89 civic hatch with two 15's and it's quiet as hell without my subwoofers playing. I have an all stock exhaust, good mounts and bushings, ect. Oh and my car only has 1 1/2" ground clearence as well. To stop rattles, expanding foam helped me out in the hatch, not sure how that would help you In the trunk but it's worth a try.
  14. KYB is like a factory replacement option unless you get the upgraded KYB's that are adjustable. In fact some manufactures use KYB from the factory, A lot of Mitsubishi vehicles came with KYB's.
  15. Can somebody run this through the calculator for me and tell me what they get? I have the calculator but I don't understand how to calculate the port yet. L = 35" x W = 18" x H = 30" plus the port info is posted in the sketch. EDIT: also rockford lists the woofer displacement as follows Woofer Displacement (in): 0.151 cu. ft. x2 of course.
  16. is it really only .3 for two t1's? Thanks for your help, Where should the port be located and what direction should the subs fire? I'll sketch something up on my ipad once I have that information. Also, there would be two measurements for the port correct?, any idea what those would be? Also, that's only 3.91 cuft after port volume and displacement, that's enough to maximize the potential of these t1's?
  17. 35 inches wide (left to right) 18 inches deep (hatch to rear seats) 30 inches tall (floor to roof) are my available dimensions. That's the max I can go.
  18. I'm open to suggestions all day long, do you have something you can recommend within my restrictions? I would love to be around 150db when all is said and done with these two 12's at 3k but it has to stay within 35"x18"x30"
  19. the only problem with that is the available space is 35" width, 18" depth and 30" tall it has to remain in those measurements. To remain cuft the only option is to build UP.
  20. By your suggestion AB18vfl... I don't know where to place the port, or how to shape it to get around 34hz with woofer displacement
  21. I don't really understand what you mean by port back on drivers side? In my head that sounds two-directional...
  22. I'm not really going for a wall effect, just trying to use the entire space in the hatch area...... It would be no different than taking up the entire trunk space in a trunk car. Here's a picture I found online..... lol, where his wall is, my seats are... my box will be behind the seats
  23. Well with the help of a friend I've kind of figured it out, opinions?
  24. here's a sideview as well just for reference.
  25. Please excuse my quick sketch from my ipad, but here's what I'm envisioning
