  1. Ya, I upgraded to silver to back about a month ago and I'm not showing but as long as they know I'm supporting them, I'm good.
  2. I've never used any tool to set my gains before. Always ear-o-meter. But still at that, I really wasn't clear on what the gains purpose was until I started reading on this forum and caco. I knew it wasn't a volume knob but up until I watched your and Tony's videos I wasn't sure where to set them. The dd-1 makes it simple for a newb like myself. Now my local shop that I've used for years wants to try it out so I'm gonna drop it off. They may invest in a cc-1 and dd-1. The are an arc dealer and built Howard Avery's sema truck and Steve (the owner of Sound Advice) was telling me its a bitch to gain match multiple amps and I told him about the cc-1 and the gain match mode and he was very interested. Thanks for the great products!
  3. I tuned my 2 sundown amps yesterday with my dd-1 and what a difference! Out of a volume that goes to 50, my jvc is clean all the way to 48 at both frequency tests. My wife's pioneer 9400 out of 60, hers was clean to 57. That's pretty damn good I think. Jvc gets bashed but I got the kd- avx49 arsenal with 5 volt preout and it is clean. I put a saz1500v2 in my truck and a sax125.4 in my wife's truck and both sound so much cleaner and clear after the dd-1. I think where the dd-1 was most helpful for us was using different brand amps with different gain characteristics. I'm running a zx850.4 and the wife has the RF 5001bd, 2006 model that's still hangs with the new stuff and still doesn't even get warm when you beat the hell out of it.
  4. Since you can clearly see the DAmore engineering on the magnets on the subs, I'd have to say those are certainly not Dayton. The phase plug on Tonys looks like it doesn't have as sharp of a point either. Just me though.
  5. I can't wait until Tony starts making amps to! I will definitely be repowering and resubing! I don't care what they cost!
  6. You guys going to do a run of the vu-dins soon? Sure would like to score a couple.
  7. So after I upgraded to silver membership, my sig didn't change. Is there something I'm supposed to do for it to show I'm a silver member or is it done by the admin?
  8. you are alright, i didn't even see what you posted. I read a couple of posts and then i got booted out. It said i had to log in. I think i am a member but i lost my log in info. It's ok, i would rather not spend my day arguing on the net after reading some BULLSHIT. Anyway, i dropped some cash money on this amp, not sponsored or anything, i just bought it...so i can prove a point. I was at the shop, it still works fine. It will continue to work fine. I just asked if it was true and why. I really should have outright asked for technical reasons but I didn't know he was such a loose cannon so to speak. I've honestly never encountered a business owner like that, ever. He makes New York taxi drivers look nice! Lol anyway, instead of giving the amp away, I'd like to offer you what you paid for it including the shipping. You've given away enough of your equipment you paid for your self. Since my dumb ass asked the question and uncaged the beast, ill make you hole again.Let me know and ill get the funds together and PayPal you the money. Thanks again Steve and all of smd. Rjtrapp
  9. Steve, Tony, all forum members, I feel I must apologize for the thread on caco. I asked the question and didn't specify that I was looking for technical reasons, I wasn't mad and told him I was just curious. I didn't intend for the thread to turn into mudd slinging. I had just bought 2 sundown amps and a dd-1 and was wanting to know what I shouldn't do to damage my amps is all. Again I am sorry for the crap my question caused! Rjtrapp
  10. I won't use dbr for anything and infact I'm thinking of selling my sundown amps, if they ever have to be repaired and he's the only one that does it, I don't want him to get a dime of my money!
  11. steve, if you were to go through some of the posts and threads ive commented on, youd see that ive thanked you. i never win anything, thats a fact ive grown to accept, but i enjoy watching you do your give aways and system of the month contests with your great sponcers. im not looking for an atta boy or anything, just want you to know there are alot of us out here that love what you do and appriciate the hell out of what you do for the audio community. i really dont know anyone else that does for us what you do, seriously. thank you a million times and please keep doing what you do best. you also know that anyone of us on here would have your back in a heart beat if you needed. i hope there is a way you can copy and paste what really happened on jp's site to let the followers know the one stirring the pot is at fault. thank you again for your out of pocket give aways and som contests. it is greatly apprciated!
  12. i am by no means an expert but, i have my premier prs720's mounted down low in my doors in the gto. i mounted the tweets just above the mids with around 80 watts to them and when driving the stage is right at my head. its perfect,IMO. the pioneers are bright to begin with so i knew i didnt want them up high. with where your mounting your mids and tweets, when your driving, i think its going to be right on the money, especially with the amount of power your running. if your were to watch movies in surround, i could see the center channel, but it would have to have a ton of power to get past those mids and tweets. i wish i could hear it in person, i can only imagine the sound. sammy Hagar, three lock box at full tilt would be mind blowing!
  13. I agree. I will not go to the unknown and I got the conflictor virus from the aol home page and that took out disc drive c. I won't click on anything I'm not sure of. Windows os are everywhere. A majority of the in dash video head units run Microsoft os. If your the biggest, you have the biggest target on your back.
  14. The reason for me wanting one that doesn't ask is I don't know which are ok and which are potential threats. It's like when I was loading security essentials it asked me at the bottom if I wanted to run the program or download it, well crap that's that's confusing. Why not ask if you want to download and run it? Why put it in two boxes? Just some common sense would be nice with these computer engineers. Engineers, I always say after working on the garbage trucks" an engineer would jump over 5 naked women to screw one mechanic" cause they don't think of the common sense crap like , someone is going to have to figure out how to fix what they just designed and engineered. Sorry, off topic. F***kin engineers!
  15. Its kind of funny that I troubleshoot and repair trucks with up to 6 computers controlling engines, transmissions, antilock brakes, gauges, lights, and bodies. Automated trash trucks but I can't fix or troubleshoot the computer I use for that job.
  16. Ya I've been using our ipad 2 and it is nice to not have to worry about virus. But there's somethings the Mac won't do. Atleast the ipad won't. It won't run flash player so some videos aren't available. I just got the Toshiba back today and haven't fired it up yet so the first thing I have to do is register win 7 and then get the virus program. This Toshiba is the fusion edition and it was my first computer I ever bought in 2008. I'm keeping the kids and wife off of it. They can use the ipad. When this computer dies I'm going with the Mac for sure.does the Mac support flash player and all the stuff the ipad won't?
  17. Any body that knows anything is here. I'mlol nuthugging everyone of you guys!
  18. You guys are a huge help though. Notice I'm asking for help on smd and no where else. Lol
  19. It cost $200 for a new hard drive and windows 7. So when this laptop dies again I am springing for a Mac. But for now I really like my Toshiba satilite pro. The problem I had with trend micro is I'm not a computer guy and I really don't know which programs I should slow to load and run. I know I'm not alone and there's a million other computer illiterate people that are in the same boat as me. For now I need a protection that can decide for me until I can get computer literate and know which to do. I won't buy trend micro agaian and kapersky is the one I think ill buy. For now I'm going to try the windows essential though. For free!
  20. I'm looking for a good antivirus program for a laptop? I need one that doesn't ask me for permission to run a program. I need one that automatically knows which programs are bad and good. I need one for a morron. I just had to have a new hard drive put in my laptop and switched from vista to windows 7 home premium. I don't want to do it again. PLEASE HELP!
  21. So how do you adjust the 3sixty3 when your on the go? Do you have to have the laptop or is there another remote piece that it comes with for tuning on the go?
