  1. Oh and do I put a fuse near the battery on the wire going to my alternator?
  2. ok I found the red wire. Now where should I ground the negatve on my battery too? I dont see a place I would feel comfortable grounding it too. Also anyone find a spot on the engine block to place a ring terminal?
  3. ok cool I will check in the morning. I just wasnt for sure because there is a couple wires on my alt.
  4. Does anyone have any experience with upgrading the big 3 on a 2001 or similar S10 Blazer 4.3l? I dont know what wire is the positive on my alternator and looked underneth and I did not see any bolts on engine block. If anyone has done one please help me out.
  5. I see. Im glad I didnt just buy 3 of them. Thanks for the help guys.
  6. I plan on buying a DC power 300 amp alternator in a couple of months. So just wait till I do that? What about 14v batteries?
  7. I have a 2001 Chevy S10 Blazer and I was wondering if I can run 16 volt batteries in it. I plan on replacing my under the hood battery and putting a few in the back. I believe my suv runs at 14.4v (well thats what i see on the gauge as normal but not 100% sure). The gauge reads from 9v to 19v i believe but the red lines are right near 9 and 19 so I would think it would be alright to run it in between? I was planning on putting some xs D1400s as replacements but would it be better to put some xs D1600s instead? I am curious, I plan on putting a monster system in it and I want to get the most out of it. Any help would be appreciated!
  8. Thank you guys for all of the help I will be buying a new meter tomorrow and testing all the numbers again to double check. I will also check all of my connections and test the battery voltage. I will let you guys know if they sound any better. Do you guys recommend soldering wires together or clamping them? I have never soldered wires before but I heard that it works.
  9. I got home and pulled them out of the box. All of the coils read between 4.6-4.7, I then tested my Memphis Mojos that are Dual 1 Ohm and all of the coils on those came out to be between 1.6-1.7 so I guess my Digital Multimeter is off by around .6-.7. And thanks to ChevyBoy95 for the info because I just bought this DMM from harbor freight 2 days ago. I still dont understand why my readings were 2.9-3.0 when I wired them both in parallel? I took the reading from the terminals from the box is that why? Even with the DMM being off by .6-.7 It still should be around 1.7 unless it adds the two .7s together which would make sense. But that still doesnt help with why they all of the sudden the loudness of them is about half of what it used to be... If I am missing anything please let me know. I checked what I could see of the tinsels and the spider everything looks good. I pulled the gaskets off and checked the cone and surround everything is glued together. You cannot see the voice coils on the type Rs but I figured if that was the problem the readings would have been jumping around.. Thanks to everyone who has been helping me on this.
  10. Can anyone explain why my 2 alpine type r 4ohm subs wired together in parallel are giving a final ohm reading of 2.9 and 3.0 on my digital multimeter? I have not pulled the subs out of the box to test each voice coil yet but I will do that as soon as I get home from work tonight. Ive had them for about 2 months and have had about 800rms in total to both subs. I took them out a few days ago cause they just all the sudden werent loud like they used to be. I thought I had just blown them but them... any help would be great Thanks
  11. Yeah thats what I thought. lol I havent used the box or anyhting on it yet I just saw them in it for a minute or two today to make sure they worked all good. What size box do you think I should put them in? I havent looked up memphis specs yet. Im putting them in a 2001 chevy 2dr s-10 blazer without backseats. So space isnt that much of a problem. Il Prolly be running them off of an audioque 3500d.
  12. yeah he also gave me an 8 cuft box with two 4in aero ports and one 8in aero port. Im not sure why there is 3 aero ports, you can plug the 8in i guess cause theres a big plug in it with a handle on it you can take it out? He made the box himself im guessing.
  13. Yeah I will have to try something like that, I found em on craigslist got 2 12s for $250. They got brand new PSI recones with softparts i think thats what he said. He needed the money pretty bad.
  14. I just bought two memphis mojos off of someone today and he didnt have the magnet boots to them, the magnet has a few very small chips on the bottom of it. I was wondering if there is something you can put on it other than finding some magnet boots to keep them from chipping off? Like some kind of glue or epoxy? I plan on taking very good care of these subs i just wast sure if they are going to continue to chip or not?
  15. I am wanting to find someone or two people who has one or two extra magnet boots for the 2009 model Memphis Mojos they would be willing to sell. I just bought two mojos off someone today and he didnt have the magnet boots for them, to me I personally think they look better with the boots. They are the mojos pictured in the Memphis 2009 catalog. Even if you have one magnet boot that would be good. I looked all over the internet and found nothing.
