I still use both of those all the time, they work great! They are both from around 1982! That missing button on the DMM only recently fell off, the switch behind it still works great! The oscope has even been recently calibrated! Edit: Goes to show you it pays to invest in proper equipment.

Yeah exactly. Just do the same thing with the DD1 when you get it and you know all the safe points. It's too bad the level indicators on my headunit are pretty much just eye candy. I think once you hit -10db or so it just shows the bar as full. If it actually went to 0db I could figure out which point to use for each track on the fly!

I guess I just like to play it safe, even if that means I am being overly safe. Some recordings are mixed like absolute garbage these days. When I get the oscope back out to test the eq bands on my headunit (talked about it in another thread) ill probably set again using a -5db, and then take note at what volume a 0db doesn't clip. That way I know I can use between X and Y depending on quality of recording/file. The argument for using -5db tones definitely makes sense. Hell the argument for using -10db tones makes sense. When you record an album your supposed to do it at -10db and when you record/transmit for broadcast -15db (I even double checked this with my brother who is taking a lot of recording classes in college right now to see if it had changed), but like I said, lots of shit recordings that don't follow these rules. Read up on the loudness war if you haven't already.

Just out of curiosity which tone did you use to set it? 0db, -5db, -10db? I've always set gains using 0db tones but I have been thinking about trying a -5db.

I am freaking the fuck out about that chrome A1200 on the last page. I never knew about that one and now I NEED IT TO LIVE! That is one of the most gorgeous things I have ever seen. I would probably trade every piece of car audio I own for that. I like it that much.

Wow nice. Are there any more pictures of this vehicle and what is inside? That's seriously insane man, I'm pretty sure at 160db you instantaneously go deaf.

If this is how it works then I NEED to own one of these. How will it connect? RCA or speaker level? If it's speaker level I am extra sold if that is even possible. I need to get one of the volt meters as well.

Thats pretty damn nice. I'd tidy up those wires a bit though What speed/timings are you running your memory at with that OC? EDIT: Try bundling/stuffing some wires into empty 5.25 bays. Why do you want to go liquid? What are your temps? If your temps are fine and you don't want to OC anymore you really dont need it. As far as SSDs go it really depends on how you use your computer if its worth it or not. You'll have faster load/boot times but thats really it. So its up to you weither having that really justifies the cost.
