  1. I thought those subs were already 2200 watts rms? 2 of em on the DC 5k is a perfect match IMO. They should already be able to take that much power if you're not clipping and you know what you're doing.
  2. If you have to ask...I would just run rated power man. The box is what plays the role in determining the exact power handling of a woofer so we can't really tell you how much you can run to your specific sub because it's different for every application.
  3. Looks awesome I have the exact same amperage alt I've had mine for about half a year now and love it! Keeps my voltage nice and high.
  4. They should nickname those woofers cherry bomb or something, lol lame joke I know but those dustcaps look so sexy. I can't wait to see how this turns out steve do work! This makes me super excited to see another build from you, tuned in...
  5. My skar vvx 12's get pretty warm run off the equipment in my sig. They seem to get hotter when the temperature outside is hot, I'm guessing this has to do with the air thats cooling the gap. If it's cooler that means the air should be cooler and therefore cool the sub more.
  6. Yes the gain is set on the amp and no I haven't contacted DC yet just wanted to see if it was something simple I was overlooking before I started contacting them. Thanks for all the help guys, I might just send it back and get an LC-1 or something
  7. Thanks for the replies. Yes I used their cord they sent everything the cord and the knob but it just doesn't work. When you turn it all the way from max from min nothing happens. The clipping light doesn't flash but the power light is on.
  8. Hi all, I recently purchased a Dc audio bass knob for my DC 3.5k and I wired it to the amp yesterday. THe power light comes on but when you turn the knob it doesn't affect the sound. You can still hear a little bass but it sounds like it's barely up. Anything I'm over looking? I tried turning the switch from master to slave but it didn't help any. Thanks!
  9. It was the Cadillac escalade videos and build log that made me get into car audio the way I'm into it now. Thats going to be a big project but can't wait to see the Caddy playing again!
  10. Can't wait to order one of these! Already got the other shirt and the hoodie but gotta have this!!
  11. Honestly I don't see how people can hate on you Mr. Meade. You've basicaly been my inspiration ever since i worked two summers ago and bought my first 12" sub at an audio shop (back in my noob days but we all gotta start somewhere) and then when I discovered your website and watched your videos on youtube I was so blown away. I had never even heard of rockford fosgate and didn't know it was possible to have music that loud. Now I've been through several diffrent setups and am now on my first REAL setup with 4 skar vvx 12's but I never would've had the motivation to get off the couch, get a job, go to college, and still try and do my build all at the same time if it wasn't for discovering this site and seeing your tahoe and lexus transform. The fact that you could influence me and hundreds of other people is enough in my book to distinguish you as an awesome person. This makes it almost frightening that someone could even think of anything to hate on about you. Two clean ass rides and a nice shop with soooooo many sick youtube vids. Keep up the good work man!
