my guess is that he was playing with a severely clipped signal and blew it? the box he had it in looked like a child made it

lol the DD webpage says, "greatest voice coil cooling capability" but I don't see the physical explanation anywhere. They said it "eliminates side lobbing interference", which prevents as much heat build-up in the coil. They have a pole vent though, and I saw one with a spaced basket for forced air style cooling.
