The RF T40001BD is expensive, let alone two of them. I can't spend that much now.

What would be a good amp for 8-15 Fi.SSds? If not one then maybe a couple.

How did that turn out for you? -
8-15s Sealed To 6-15s Ported Within Minutes

Believe it or not, but I actually did take the time on tuning them to as close as I can the the enclosure volume. It was roughly about 18-19 cuft before the port displacement and the woofer displacement. The woofer displacement was only .11 cuft. -

I would build a new box, but I got something going on within the next few months with a photo shoot. -
I was just looking at the new issue of Car Audio and Electronics and they are having a giveaway. They are giving away a new Boston Acoustics' G3 subwoofer. I noticed that there were 2 fuses in between the speaker terminals. I've heard of fusing tweeters but never subwoofers. Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

I didn't want to get too carried away with the port building. I'm not that good with building ports, but I'm pretty good at building sealed enclosures. I just learned the hard way. Plus the subs I have don't move that much air and if I build bigger ports the box volume would of dropped. There isn't enough volume to begin with. -

It had great sound quality when it was sealed. It was very sloppy when it was ported. My last set up was ported and it had good sound quality. It was worth a try though. -

It was louder when it was sealed. The enclosure is just not big enough to be ported with 6-15s. I was just curious to hear what it sounded like if I ported it. Thanks for the compliment. Maybe in the near future I can get new subs and new amps. I found this forum after I built and bought everything. I wonder what subs I'm looking at? haha Thanks Steve!!! -

For these subs, I think sealed sounds better. Maybe ported if I had a 24 cuft enclosure. -
I wanted to have a box that can be both sealed and ported at the same time so I came up with this idea. I can have the 8 - 15s sealed or whenever I can take 2 out and have 6-15s ported. The enclosure is about 18-19cuft. The two ports I made are tuned at about 33-34 hz. It sounds pretty decent.

Maybe a time/$$ saver in Fiberglassing.
BlockShaker replied to LSN2meBoom916's topic in Fabrication, Fiberglass, Etc
I'm not sure if this would help out but I've used the color pigments that you are talking about. I was taught to use a different color for every layer of fiberglass mat. Its just to let you know where to build up at so you'll know where to start building up the next layer and so on. Usually I'll have 2 or 3 colors and change a color as I'm building up layers. It really helps if you want to perfect the layers on any build. I don't even use them anymore since I'm pretty good at knowing where I left off from the previous layer. There are other applications where you can use the color pigments depending on what you want to use them for. -

Congrats on winning the 1st System of the Month on SMD. That is one of the best Thunderbird installs I've ever seen and the car itself is one of a kind. Keep up the good work.
