Maybe use one inch and double the top and all the other stuff you mentioned. If you've looked at mine I always go overboard. HEll, for two 18's I'd probably do 2" and double the long runs but that's just me. How much power???

without subtracting for dispaclements and bracing you are correct. You will have alot of displacemment you need to subtract before figuring your port lengths. Your on the right track. My suggestion is use the plans you have but don't cut port lengths until all the building is done and you know how much bracing to subtract. Plus instead of using 3/4" walls IMO you should at least double the walls to 1 1/2". And the diplacement by the sub and ports will greatly affect tuning.

I was looking over the 360.2 and there doesnt' seem to be enough outputs. My guess would be to use the front output as highpass, rear ouptut as front bandpass, use the center channel as rearfill then the sub-out. Is this right?? Then I would still need to use the passive x-over with the three-way for the tweeters. That's an expensive piece when I think I need two just to have an active tweeter x-over and a stereo rearfill.Maybe I will just do a two-way upfront

Impressive.... :^ King the 800's are the size of a battery right?? Would you suggest Batcap 800 over the Kinetic hc600? or does my plan stated earlier look sufficient? My peak amp draw will end up in the 200-250 range, btw.

Anyone have experience with the X-static batcaps and/or Kinetic batteries? BTW I was considering using a batcap 400 with a Kinetic HC600 in trunk and a Kinetik HC2400 to replace main battery. Any opinions. It's reaally hard to find a H.O. alternator for a VW >. I'm thinking the batteries and cap will be a start and if I need more (or burn up my alternator) I will probably need to switch to a GM H.O. alternator.

Well, I'm always learning. The explanation I've heard is if you look at the sub as a whole mechanical object and are creating pressure the more you can move the sub the higher your spl. I believe the prhase was mechanical cone area, I don't remember the exact phrase but do you see where I'm going with this. If you double the power and effectively double your cone excursion your spl will go up unless you have reached the mechanical limitations of the sub.

But I want to pull away from going back and forth. IF you notice the post directly after mine I make my actual advice. The post before was a quote from another site that had IMO good info when it comes to making a decision on subwoofer purchasing.

You can pick apart each individual reply I may make,but if you re-read what was posted it explains the different variables. It is true that the cone vibrates the air to make sound, and if we had double the cone area ALSO vibrating the air making the same sound then we might have 3dB more sound! But we did more here than to simply change cone area! We added cone area that was already playing the same sound! Edit to mention if your excursion goes from one inch to two inches you are in effect increasing your cone area

1st question same 15's? 2nd question same box? 3rd question was 750 the most the subs you were using could handle? Also if your subs can handle twice the poer that meens you are moving them further in effect adding to the amount of mass movement which would equal an increase in cone area Cone area is not just 10/12/15/18 etc it also needs to include movement

it's explaining why and how to increase sound and it gets into different variances which are important in making decisions.

If you re-read it does say that. Quote "1. Adding one sound to another sound of the same amplitude (volume) will gain you 3dB. " It explains that not JUST adding cone are OR power will create gains. Basically you need both. Also, I can't find it right now but, cone area is not just the size of the cone but how much it moves as well.
