  1. Ok i am assuming sub displacement is .2 per sub 15.5 high 5 wide 14 long Should put you around 37 but remember that if it is a double baffle to subtract 1.5 (3/4 wood) from your port cut.
  2. height 15.5 width 6 depth 18 according to his post
  3. He did.... Though I think the sub displacement is a little higher.

  5. Your weakness now and even once you get your alt in is still going to be your 4ga power wire. Most 4ga power wire is rated at around 105 amp. Now you may also consider going with KNU 4ga flex which is capable up to 150 amp which would probably suit you better since you are having a problem running the 1/0 gauge. Maybe you have really good 4ga IDK but at 105 amp at 14.4 with 100 percent efficiency you would only see 1512 watts if my math is correct. Maybe I am off somewhere but that amp is going to need more draw than typical 4ga.
  6. I'd say no.... GO to your nearest GM dealer and ask them... It will be cheaper and mount right up.
  7. Its the same tray from Wrangler just from the dealer at around 25 bucks instead of over 500 from wrangler. A guy I know bought the one from Wrangler and it had a GM part number with a wrangler sticker.
  8. I dont know about the price I think you can buy the parts separately but here is something else I found. http://www.wranglernw.com/ProductPickerRes...amp;itemtype=11
  9. http://www.socalavalanche.com/Photos/Batte...tterystuff3.jpg http://www.socalavalanche.com/Photos/Batte...tterystuff7.jpg I know this is an avalanche but still if the engine bay looks the same it should work.
  10. Whats the engine? 5.3vortec? If so they make a second battery tray for it and yes it does go under the brace on the passenger side. Check out WCA Rusty's build on the SS you will see the battery tray he installed. Its the same one and to get it go to your GM dealer and see if these are the right parts. passenger side tray, screw and battery clamp. respectivly the Part numbers: 15705102, 11509853, and 356668.... Have them check the part numbers but it should be about 35 buck for all of it.
  11. From a majority of the ground pounder builds here eveyone seems to tune in the low 30's. As far as numbers it so hard to say because you will need a good design and build on your box. Also every vehicle is differnet so there is no way to tell numbers until the end of build. Also with that amp and those subs you could run daily 2ohms and still get RMS to each sub then to burb you could wire it down to .5 ohm but I wouldn't suggest running daily .5ohm with those subs unless you know what your doing and Sundown doesn't recomend that on their amps for very long even though they will be fine. Again this is just what I would do in your situation.
  12. With those specs 40x20x20 I calculated about 7.6 cuft before sub and port displacement using 3/4 inch wood. With that space I'd say 2 fifteens should be good. As far as equipment its going to be personal preference. For me with that budget that space and that alternator I would do the following. Amp: Sundown SAZ-3000d $700 http://www.db-r.com/sell/store/index.php?productID=146 Subs: DC Level 4 fifteens $400 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=20834 Wire: Stinger $108 http://www.darvex.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Sc...Product_Count=1 Wood: 3/4 inch mdf or birch ply around $30 to $40 at lowes or home depot Speaker wire: Knu 10 gauge $16 for 20ft http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KLE10BL RCAs: Knu Karma $15 for 6 meter http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.c...rodID=KARSS2.6M Remote wire: 14 or 16 gauge wire from walmart $8 for 50ft spool I think Starting Battery: IDK size but assume around $250 Battery: d3100 $300 http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.a...mp;autoview=sku Total: $1837 Leaves room for shipping on batteries Thats just what I'd do in your situation giving the space and budget
  13. Here is the high voltage testing.... I assume with one amp just divide the numbers by 2 beings on how the test is strapped. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7117 Here are the normal one amp regular setup testing. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7116
  14. Yeah its been over for awhile..... But maybe if there enough interest he might do another one for a month. I'd be interested if it happens.....
  15. Yeah I am not sure because I was told a similar story when calling around for price quotes and information. I was also told that there are only about four or five battery manufacturers in the world. Just different "battery" companies have pattens on certain designs.
  16. Thank you for this info as well haven't tried to get a quote from him yet due to the fact I have read on here he is very busy.
  17. Thank you for all the info I will start looking around. Now it is a 4 pin plug but only two wires coming out of the top of it.<<< the one currently on my truck. Again thanks for all the information saves me from reading and dissecting all the marketing schemes out there.
  18. It is going on a 02 chevy avalanche. Stock is 105 if that helps. After I posted I realized it was two different cases. I completely understand your concern on a dual rectifier. I have been reading more since post and in a daily driver a rectifier outside the case could be a major issue. I am almost 100 percent sure its an it is a small case AD244 if thats possible. I have read about large case and small case alternator for this engine 5.3 v8 not sure what years. Any suggestions will be helpful as I am still a little confused. I plan on ordering the odyessy battery this weekend, then install it and check voltage at full tilt then making a final selection on an alternator.
  19. Pretty honest reply, I respect that part about may not even need one of your modules. Just shows your not out to make a buck but educate people. So I am pretty set on this battery.... still looking for HO alternator though. What is the real difference between http://www.nationsautoelectric.com/ext/order.html and http://www.nationsautoelectric.com/ad244.html. I know it says dual rectifier but what is that? Also any bought from these guys?
  20. is this a good replacement battery? http://www.odysseybatteries.com/battery/pc1500.htm It fits and has more output than stock. I am currently experiencing voltage drops and waiting on price quotes for HO alternator. So is a 200 or 250 amp alternator and this battery a good match? Very similar price to powermaster 2400 and appears to have better numbers. Again I AM NEW TO batteries looking for any advise or suggestions. EDIT: and its side mount
  21. I don't know if anyone has an avalanche, but I have a soft top kit for one. If you guys know anyone who needs a cover send them my way or I guess ebay's way. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=230247411240
