  1. I have 2 Skar Audio DDX-12’s on a simple Skar Audio Rp-1200.1D amp. And I found a custom box on 402bassheads on fb, and it’s 3.5 cubic feet, and my subs recommend 2.5 cubic feet. What would happen or would be the outcome if I were to put my subs in the box? Would it sound good or would my subs just not sound the same nor work properly due to too big of a box. And the port is fucking HUGE. Picture of the box below.
  2. I'm looking to start building a battery bank since I bought a crescendo bc5500 recently and won't be able to use it for a while. So far all I have done is the big 3 in my vehicle with the stock alt and added two extra batteries. Some walmart battery a friend gave me and an xs power xp750. They power a Skar rp-75.4 and an audiopipe apdl2001d "2krms". I have two crescendo symphony sc-650 6.5" component sets and two sundown x15 v.2's in a custom box tuned to 32 hz. The goal is to eventually have a c1100.4 power two 6.5"s, three tweets, and one 8" fiberglassed in both front doors with three x15s walled off on the bc5500. I want to replace the stock battery and have at least 4 batteries in the back. Just not sure of which batteries to get. I was hoping to not have to spend upwards of 400$ per battery. I'm still a car audio newb so I went to the xspower website and typed 7500 watts in the audio calculator and it told me one d7500 and three xp2500s would be sufficient. Thoughts?? I'll post some pics / more info soon
  3. Hello everyone, been a while since last needed any help on a custom box. Iv got a P3 15d4 in a 07 corolla: The paperwork given with the sub only gives info for aero port and I'd prefer slot port both sub and port being on front. Info given: (Aero Port Recommendations) Displacement: 0.148cu ft Vb - 2.66 (Gross Volume) Fb - 32.0Hz (Tuning Frequency) H - 18" W - 28" D - 12" Port Size: (1) 4"x10 (Total diameter of sub 16.14") Help needed as this first box I'v made requiring more than a basic L port: I understand that more than one board for the port adds to being more baffles counted??? Note would be using 3/4" mdf and double baffle for front. Limitations I got are width cant be more than 27" as makes to hard to fit in trunk and I got a trunk clearance issue of being 18". (clearance being sliding box into trunk!) Contacting Rockford for slot port info has left me with no results as I always get put on hold for far to long! Any help given much appreciated and port design photos would be appreciated as well.

Has anyone ever seen a box like this? and if you have where? Every single major car audio dealer i went to told me to leave. Why do they not like this idea? I built it and i have no problems with it.i it's done... and it's loud. but how come no one will build it or look at it?
  5. hey every one i am going to be building my first enclosure ever and need some help. i have two kicker l7 15s going in an 02 Chevy trailblazer, and i have been playing around with the Torres box software. for me the design has been a little tricky since i don't have experience. from what i gather the kicker website says per sub need a minimum of 3 cubic feet to a max of 6 cubic feet per sub for the box, so the measurements i have for the box in Torres calculator is a height of 22 inches a width of 38 inches and a depth of 30 inches, the port dimensions im a little confused on i have the height at 20.5 inches im assuming using 3/4 inch mdf it cant be the same height as the whole box since you have to take 1 in a half inches off between the thickness of the top and the bottom. now i have 7 inches in the width box for the port and a length of 24 inches. now i looked up online it says each sub has a displacement of .16 so i put .32 in the woofer displacement box is that correct or should i put .16? i have two common port walls and 1 extra baffle since i will be firing the subs upward and i want the top to be 1.5 inches i have that box checked and i want the port to be towards the rear hatch of my truck. with all of these measurements as is it says the gross volume is 12.34 cubic feet and the net volume is 9.19 cubic feet tuned at 33.55 hz with 15.62 square inches of port area per foot and a port area of 143.50 square inches. now i have read around that putting 45s in the box makes it sound better along with sanding the outside and inside of the port to round it off makes it sound better.
  6. Hey guys Ill be honest I dont know a whole lot about sub enclosures i know nothing actually other than I know the one sub thats running right now is being suffocated the sealed box is way to small. Ive had the second sub for almost a year and have never had the funds to buy an amp to power them both(its been killing me having two and only having one hooked up). but the time has come #taxreturn boo yah lol. I would love to make a ported box for my two 15" but know thats a tall order for a neon trunk the only way it would work and this may be a stupid question, is if you can have the subs on one end( the end that would be facing the trunk) and have the ports facing the cab on the opposite end? i have no idea how to build it tuned for the subs or how to space the ports im clueless. if thats not possible I have no problem settling for a sealed enclosure. if sealed is the case i would need help build the enclosure to the air space the subs need if thats the right term? having it built in store isnt an option they wouldnt build it in the trunk which is necessary because its so large. they want to have it built somewhere else and shipped here which is not an option(outrageous* audio portland OR) plus the cost is outrageous*
  7. So I am going to have a custom box built for my 2 Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2 12" Subs dvc 4ohm 2003 model. From what I have read about them they are made for spl but I want sq. The builder suggested why not make it an SQL box and I thought hell why not sounds like a great idea to me. This is going to go in a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix trunk. I was thinking about getting a Crescendo bc2000d to power these (just to have enough headroom for future sub upgrade) as well as do the big 3 with 0 gauge ,run 0 to the amp, upgrade to H.O alt idk how many amps though . I have 400 rms for mids and highs already running on 4 gauge wire. My stock alt does 110 amps, idk how many amps my car uses for the electrical accessories. I also have 1 kicker 15" L7 dvc 2 ohm 2003 model. But I think I will be better of with the HX2s I only plan on pushing between 1000-1200 watts on the subs I don't want to blow them. any opinions and suggestions welcome
  8. Ok im new at this so bear with me. I have had several systems but mostly premade boxes and junk main stream products. My new system is going to be a Fi Q18, Xs D3100, RF T2500 BD-CP, RF T600.4, RF 3sixty.2, Knu 0 Gauge, Big 3, Pioneer 4 way doors, Sony 601bt HU, and a few other things not yet purchased. I still need a HO alt for sure as the amp alone is 1800 rms at 4 ohm not to mention all the other fun stuff. My car is a 92 Crown Vic. Im converting my back seat so it can fold down. I have cut out my back dash and all other metal blocking the trunk access. Im going to build my box inside the trunk and try to seal the box to the cabin of the car. Has anyone ever tried to do this to a crown vic??? There are so many obstacles im facing. The biggest is box design. the speaker needs to be at a 45 degree angle to be aimed right into the cab of the car then wood around it to seal it into the cab. a few people said go with a custom fiberglass enclosure but the audio places anywhere near me seems like a bunch of hacks and want to charge me almost 80 a hour labor alone. Plus im hesitant on building a FG enclosure for a 18 and it shattering on me. I need some input big time. The trunk space that i have to work with is a odd shape and measured out is about 40" long 24"wide and 24"deep. That is the most room in the trunk possible if i build the box in the trunk. But i need the most box size with the speaker at about a 45. Is this impossible. Do odd shaped speaker boxes sound bad or am i limited to a rectangle enclosure??? Also if i build a odd shaped box how do i calculate pot size. Im thinking i should of ordered a 15 or 2 but its to late for that as my 18 ships out tomorrow after a month of waiting. What are my options??? Any help out there.
