  1. Hey guys Ill be honest I dont know a whole lot about sub enclosures i know nothing actually other than I know the one sub thats running right now is being suffocated the sealed box is way to small. Ive had the second sub for almost a year and have never had the funds to buy an amp to power them both(its been killing me having two and only having one hooked up). but the time has come #taxreturn boo yah lol. I would love to make a ported box for my two 15" but know thats a tall order for a neon trunk the only way it would work and this may be a stupid question, is if you can have the subs on one end( the end that would be facing the trunk) and have the ports facing the cab on the opposite end? i have no idea how to build it tuned for the subs or how to space the ports im clueless. if thats not possible I have no problem settling for a sealed enclosure. if sealed is the case i would need help build the enclosure to the air space the subs need if thats the right term? having it built in store isnt an option they wouldnt build it in the trunk which is necessary because its so large. they want to have it built somewhere else and shipped here which is not an option(outrageous* audio portland OR) plus the cost is outrageous*
  2. Has anyone ever seen a box like this? and if you have where? Every single major car audio dealer i went to told me to leave. Why do they not like this idea? I built it and i have no problems with it.i it's done... and it's loud. but how come no one will build it or look at it?
  3. hey every one i am going to be building my first enclosure ever and need some help. i have two kicker l7 15s going in an 02 Chevy trailblazer, and i have been playing around with the Torres box software. for me the design has been a little tricky since i don't have experience. from what i gather the kicker website says per sub need a minimum of 3 cubic feet to a max of 6 cubic feet per sub for the box, so the measurements i have for the box in Torres calculator is a height of 22 inches a width of 38 inches and a depth of 30 inches, the port dimensions im a little confused on i have the height at 20.5 inches im assuming using 3/4 inch mdf it cant be the same height as the whole box since you have to take 1 in a half inches off between the thickness of the top and the bottom. now i have 7 inches in the width box for the port and a length of 24 inches. now i looked up online it says each sub has a displacement of .16 so i put .32 in the woofer displacement box is that correct or should i put .16? i have two common port walls and 1 extra baffle since i will be firing the subs upward and i want the top to be 1.5 inches i have that box checked and i want the port to be towards the rear hatch of my truck. with all of these measurements as is it says the gross volume is 12.34 cubic feet and the net volume is 9.19 cubic feet tuned at 33.55 hz with 15.62 square inches of port area per foot and a port area of 143.50 square inches. now i have read around that putting 45s in the box makes it sound better along with sanding the outside and inside of the port to round it off makes it sound better.
  4. I'm looking to start building a battery bank since I bought a crescendo bc5500 recently and won't be able to use it for a while. So far all I have done is the big 3 in my vehicle with the stock alt and added two extra batteries. Some walmart battery a friend gave me and an xs power xp750. They power a Skar rp-75.4 and an audiopipe apdl2001d "2krms". I have two crescendo symphony sc-650 6.5" component sets and two sundown x15 v.2's in a custom box tuned to 32 hz. The goal is to eventually have a c1100.4 power two 6.5"s, three tweets, and one 8" fiberglassed in both front doors with three x15s walled off on the bc5500. I want to replace the stock battery and have at least 4 batteries in the back. Just not sure of which batteries to get. I was hoping to not have to spend upwards of 400$ per battery. I'm still a car audio newb so I went to the xspower website and typed 7500 watts in the audio calculator and it told me one d7500 and three xp2500s would be sufficient. Thoughts?? I'll post some pics / more info soon
  5. I have 2 Skar Audio DDX-12’s on a simple Skar Audio Rp-1200.1D amp. And I found a custom box on 402bassheads on fb, and it’s 3.5 cubic feet, and my subs recommend 2.5 cubic feet. What would happen or would be the outcome if I were to put my subs in the box? Would it sound good or would my subs just not sound the same nor work properly due to too big of a box. And the port is fucking HUGE. Picture of the box below.
