Either/Or. The Sub Volume on the EQ works more as a secondary gain, I believe, as the EQ is also a 7v preamplifier IIRC. I liked controlling the volume with my EQ than the bass knob anyways. This is also if your bass knob is a volume control and not a bass boost knob. Quote POTATO!
