anthonyott99 Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Im wanting to use my new kicker comp 8's as a mid-bass in my front door pods, my only question is how to set my amp ? I have my amp running off of the front rca's on my HU and was wondering what to set it to push these 8's ? Should i just run it on full pass like i do now ? If i run the 8's i have now on LPF i lose alot of mids,highs. So should i run the kickers the same way or are they not capable of running these frequency's ??
skittlesRgood Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 it will work for midbass. you will want to cross them over at 450hz at the most. 300-350 should be good. your amp probably wont be able to do that so you will need another crossover. rubbernutz1 Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 personal preference. run them in x over then run them in full range and see which sounds better to you. but like skittles said it will work for mid if u X it over. really it depends on what kind of kicker 8"s u got. the 1s i got im running them full range cus thats what they were meant for.
