BanginOnABudget
mite i ask y u have 2 fi x 12s in 6 cubes? cuz i have my 15 x in 2.6 cubes because of over powering and if your usings that 1500 i know your over powering overpowering is all in the gains bro.... and thats the specs needed to get it to play some half decent lows. a 4 cuft box tuned to 25 hz may have a f3 of 32 hz, wheres a 6 cuft box tuend to 25 may have a f3 of 27 hz, its all about the displacement man. and what makes you think im overpowering them? i could go to 7cuft and the subs would be fine, according to design software. bro, just because a person might have a 2kw amp dosent mean you need to have 2kw of output. i will put a 27 hz tone on the head unit, tune my gains to have about 1000w of output, and let er eat. OH, and btw, this is the OLD fi-x 12"s, not the new ones. one last thing, the fi x 15 calls for about 11 cubic feet at 19 hz to play anything in the 20 hz range. they're kinda shitty subs, better for home audio use. the sundown audio SA-15 is a FAR better sub. anyways, longreply is long. Bakerman
Just a quick question. Where did you get those thingymabobbers that hold the 90 degree angle on the corners for you? And what are they called?
Trâgîk
I like the box and stuff but the box is kinda big for those subs imo. Just seems a little much. Where did you get those thingymabobbers that hold the 90 degree angle on the corners for you? And what are they called? 90' corner clamps, at harbor freight they're like $7 each, now that i own them, i wish i had gotten more exspensive ones somewhere else. they're good for small speaker eclosures, but when working with big enclosures and MDF, they dont really hold as good as i wish they did, plus once they are tight you destroy your fingers loosening them. OMG these would be godly. http://www.amazon.com/Wolfcraft-3415405-Right-Angle-Clamp/dp/B000JCGYD6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1297924475&sr=8-1 and for my box, why do you think its big? because it isnt a generic size like other people use, dont go by the tech specs from the manufacturers, always run the t/s specs through design software and see what it all comes out to.
