Ji553r
smaller box means less impedance rise so the amp is putting out more power. thats why your voltage drops a little more. if you have a 1/4" gap venting air then who knows what the box should actually sound like. this whole time i was thinkin bigger box = less rise I don't fuck around. I go from zero to I hope you die in less than 2 posts build log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/104524-new-subs-coming-sundown-3500d-arc-audio-cable-lacing-crescendo/
Robert8252
Thee bigger a box the more you can reach the subs mechanical limits instead of its thermal limits with a smaller box. So a "bigger" box would let you get the most performance from the power and less then 6 cubes is fine for almost any 18" sub. What's the problems getting port size right with it? 2013 F150 Crew Cab Old Build Log Feedback 2013 F150 Equipment - Some Awesome Stereo Sound Making Stuff

chapo123
that amp is 1500 at 14.4v whats the lowest volts your droping too/ i would actually make the box a little bigger then 6 cubes since your underpowering it. and yeah go for 14-16sq in of port per cube. be sure to baffle and use 45s as well. i would say 33hz. i was tuned that low with 15 sq in of port per cube and i could play the high notes perfectly as well as play chopped and screwed too Steve I don't know why but everytime I see your new paint I want a Dr. Pepper...... is this normal? heres an analogy for you. running a high power stereo without a fuse is like having unprotected sex with that hot chick at the bar with the sketchy sexual history. Sure you may be fine and nothing happens but that one time something does happen you're fucked. i dont want woofer broke like bass sound clip clip and voice coil overheat 2 sa12s, saz1500 build log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/91183-chapo123s-sundown-build-log/page__gopid__1250604entry1250604

Sammitch0
40w x 20h x 25d thats max i'd want. I'd say I drop to the low 12's mid 11's on the really low stuff. So yeah I'd say im lucky to hit 1500rms clean right now if at all. I want my box somewhat rounded but I want to hit the lows so I suppose 33hz @ 6ft with 14-16 inches of port is my goal, can someone help me get that goal? doesnt help that Dave gave me no T/S parameters.
