Guest MegaloManiac
OK, i am using the PSP Inc calculator. Volume of Box in Cubic Feet: 2 Tuning frequency 32 Port diameter 4 Number of Ports 1 Straight Length Port required 13.61 Flare Length Port required 14.61 now i am a bit of a newb at this enclosure designing. but to sum it up i would need a 4" flare with a 12" center peice. and cut the center piece down to 8.61"? correct? andym85
im not sure...i would measure how long each flare is by itself. add those two number up and subtract it from 14.61 and that answer would be how long the actual straight tube needs to be... i likes me some audio stuff... Guest MegaloManiac
flares are 3" edit: actually i think they are 4" the connector doesnt take up any length either way 4" & a 10" center peice, my math is still the same
FieroGrande
Depends on the length of the flares? If they are 3" flares then the center piece will be 8.61. Your just wanting an over length of 14.61................I dont know if that helped any.

Guest MegaloManiac
Ok turns out the PSP calculator the Vb is in Gross not net, My friend emailed them and forwarded the email to me. so 8.61" was correct Subject: formula question.i'm trying to decide how many ports I need to buy and exactly how big the box needs to be. On the calc and formula page, Vb refers to gross or net volume (gross-sub) only? thanks, db Doug Blohm | WFAA-TV, Inc. | BT Broadcast Media | 214.977.6190 Doug,The Vb measurement is the total volume of the enclosure. Most people use the gross volume to make things easier. You can subtract out all "internal" items if you like. Depending on your application (Home or Auto), I would determine what the maximum size of enclosure you want to build and then do the math from there. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
