vw golf mk4 install

hi i have a red 3 door golf mk4, i am 19 and from the england and this is my install

it used to has two 12inch spl dynamics xtr 300 subs init with around 700rms to each but i wanted loads louder so i got myself some big kit

the list of whats init

one 18" ascendant audio mayhem

two spl dynamics S-2000D amps

jvc kd-avx2 headunit

6 sheets of loudboy sound deadening

one hawker Genesis battery in the front

4 Hawker 3VB11's batteries in the back

loads of 0 gauge

loads of knukonceptz gear (fuse holdes, fuses, speaker wire, reusable 0 gauge ring terminals, normal 0 gauge ring terminals, rca cables,)

stinger digital voltmeter

and these are in the back, wire them up to 12v, and there like having two big 12v batteries and have well over 110ah

the big 3 was also done here are some pics, it is only a little 70amp alternator but will be upgrading to a 180amp

the headunit

i then started sound deadening and i started with the boot ill let the pics do the talking

i then done the boot lid and put expanding foam init to fill the gaps

i then done the rear door cards

i then sound deaden the roof

i then got the batteries all wired up

now for the box

the box is made out of 18mm birch ply

18mm on the front, back, sides and bottom, the top is 36mm

it is 6 cuft after displacement and the port is tuned too 35hz, the port area is 12sq inches per cube

had to cut a few things in the boot to get more area but was well worth it here are some pics

well how does it sound? vids?.. It's looking good so far man

it sounds good, brutal with the high and drops nice a low

i got it on the term lab and these are the scores

20 - 138.27

25 - 141.29

33 - 146.51

40 - 145.85

peak - was 146.51 at 33hz

Total Average Score is 143.68

im really happy with it because thats its 1st run, still got another amp to go on but the voltage drops too 12.4 with just one because of my little 70amp alternator

so will be putting a 180 on it and then put the other amp on and see what it does then, also got a few things to try out on the box to see if it will get even louder

by the box what exactly you mean with after displacement? Do you mean the displacement of the woofer and port?Because I'm installing the same woofer in my Audi A3 8l and have only 6 cuft without the displacement of port and woofer =( And now I don't know which port size and tune frequ I should choose? Maybe you (or somebody else) can help me =)

and yeah my box is 6cuft after displacement, which means its what area you have left after the port and sub as be taken away

as far as i know (i might be wrong) the lower the port is the more area it will take up but iv got 12sq inches of port so if i took abit of that i could tune lower but i didt want too

but i might make a new box in the furture and tune that one lower
