Sub Box For My Room

Recommended Posts

I'm going to building a t-line box for a REX12 to go in my room. I was wondering what would be the best way to build the box (mostly worried about port placement here.) I wasn't sure if it would be better to have the port up or forward.

I made a quick picture for my ideas for the box.

As you can see, I kept the subs at the bottom, because I've always learned they're supposed to be down low.

Which of these is better? Or would you recommend a better design? I'm open to suggestions.

If it matters at all, my room is about 12x12

I think you will have a better bass responce with your T-Line, with the port facing the wall directly. From the bottom, or middle, or top, I believe the output will be the same as far as DB's but where the bass goes will change. Id Recommend A tuning of like 28Hz and let it hit out the port right against the wall like 1ft away or less. It will reverb the best that way. Dig the Idea. Im gonna do teh same with a TC Sounds Epic 12" just gotta sell me stuff. lol

Another option would be to put the sub faceing up, port forward. The reason im saying face it up or down is to help out with the bass being extreamly un even in the room because the room is a perfect square.
