my 08 malibu ltz wont crank up

maybe pressing the pedal more than 8 times will do something to it...

maybe the battery just needs to stay hooked up for a few hours to reset the whole circuit..

i had it hooked up all day yesterday since 7 in the morning

its 9:44am here in cali

so its been hooked up for more than 24hrs

a guy wrote this on one of the forums

cant find the link but copy and pasted this instructions

of how to reset the ecu to any car.i dont know if this would work

but im willing to try it

here it is:

ECU reset

This is how you effectively reset your ECU, after a major power mod or some sort of boost or fueling change/increase i.e. an EBC or AFC:

-Unplug the negative terminal from your battery

-Get in car and pump brake pedal a few times, or until no electrical functions work (tail lights, dashlights, etc)

-let car sit for 45 minutes

-reconnect the negative terminal and take the car for a "spirited" drive, coming as close as possible to redline in each gear (BE SAFE!!!)

-do a cool down drive and make sure you use good gas from then on

man the only thing i could think of left to do is get the error code programmer.. whatever that damn thing is called... it tells you what is wrong with the car..

scanner?

So does the car even try to start or won't turn at all?

it doesnt make that noise that it wants to start

its all quiet

i have to stick my head out of the window

so i can hear if my car is making any noise

That's not very accurate though, especially if here's a problem with the ecu. When I was having this issue with my car I hooked up the programmer to it and it indicated a bad abs power module....bs! After resetting the ecu I had no more bs error codes and everything has been working fine and its been over a year now.

now this might be or sound stupid but hold the lock and unlock button together on ur cars keless entry remote see if it will reset itself and then see if you can get it to start. it might take a minute for it to reset if it does at all but id say hold those buttons for atleast 30secs but if nothing happens after a min then it probably aint gonna do anything.

i bet you autozone could rent out the scanner for a small fee? or maybe someone already has one..

my friend has one,he as well owns a shop

those things are like 7k

but he even said it wont work for my car's issue

he went to my house to check it out

and told me where's my manual book,sadly someone took it out

whoever was cleaning out my car,never paid attention to it than right now

sucks

still cant find the damn thing

I had a similar issue with 2008 LTZ 3.6, and the dealer found a bad solonoid and connector. Once replaced it never came back and the car is running fine.
