Going from class AB to D for sub amp- worth it?

Class Ds should be more efficient, but ABs have the ability to be cleaner.

surprised no one else mentioned A/B amps put out a cleaner signal

my specific reason for this post ...

Not to me, I will never switch to a class d.

I will Always run Linear Power Class A/B amps ...

sigh, folks. AB amplifiers are less efficient (my RF 200a4 is ~50%), yet they output a much cleaner signal. D amplifiers are much more efficient (70-90%) yet the signal isnt as clean. thats why people generally use Class AB amps for mids and highs and class d subwoofer amps. its harder to hear the unclean signal through subwoofers as opposed to mids and highs.

edit: uhoh made a good point. those SQ guys use AB/A amps in their setups to get rid of as much distortion as possible.

for the noobs

most high end audio use A/B amps for there subs
