OK well i have been doing a lot of research talking to a lot of people.(Big thanks to Trippi and SkittlesRGood) there currency's helping me with some decision making.

But I'm still kinda confused to how this works. Now Im not really a huge sound quality guy but i do like a good clean sound, And in my new build thats what I'm looking for. But i want it to be as loud an as clean as possible but im not willing to cut my doors up an adding a large number speakers.

So my questions are

How do you properly designs a Front Stage.

What should i really be looking for, Talking to Trippi he says that looking for something with a higher Sensitivity is my best option.

Quite a few people are telling me to look into Focal and Rainbow,Morel,CDT But looking into those companies, I really haven't seen a high sensitivity (nothing above 93) Then i look into companies like Beyma with a sensitivity of like 100-103.

what should i do, who should i look at. Vehicle is a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2(3.5)'s- 4(6.5)'s and i have multiple places to mount tweets

Let the information flow

he wouldnt be the first to say they did a 167 with a system like that (one that clearly DOESNT), but i have to say, he didnt beat me anywhere, ive never competed against the guy. If he thinks his does a 167, mine would probably put him in a coma. :hairtrick:

well with a 3way "box" set you just get the set and thats it. if you want to "design" a set then you go active and pick out specific speakers. a PA driver will be like that O2 set you showed me. loud, but no bottom end. that would be goo for your midrange 3.5". then the 6.5" will be midbass and have pretty low sensitivity. you want that.

now for a 3way set i found a few rainbows that will work for you, as long as the 4" mid works for you.

if you want to go active, we can look at that option. i may be able to help a little with cost. we can talk about that in PMs.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

my deck now is considered 3way active, high, mid, low, if i wanted a 3way setup my low would be to the midbass and the mid would go to like a 3 or 4'' speaker?

cause i cant turn off the low side of it so im thinking it has something to do with this

i got the mid going to my 6&1/2 and high going to the tweets, wit 2 2ch amps, i was wanting to bring another mid into the mix but dunno how to cross it over so it will blend wit the tweets, or should i move the tweets lower?

i been messing with time alignment trying to set it up and it does make a difference in how it sounds

why i ask this is with running a comp set active ive got a fuller sound and its loud as hell and i dont need rear fill anymore but i might rig something up so i can run my 6&1/2 coax active, just rewire the tweet lol, should sound killer lol

but ive been told that u need to keep the tweet close to the mid but wont time alignment take care of this? i made a thread about my setup but no one posted anything about it so im stuck with what i got now atm

anyways, active is the way to go if u get good comp set

ok now what exactly is the benefit of going active?

running passave = runing from ur amp to the cross overs and then to ur speakers takes some of ur power away from the system due to all the caps and coils and shit to tweet the signal so it wont blow its specified speaker so u loose about 50% or so of ur wattage just by running threw cross overs, and u can only tune with what the xover is set to cross over each speaker at

as with going active = running an amp for ur tweets and for mids takes the cross over out of the equation and u can dial in what kind of cut off frequency u want the speakers set at and u can set the db/octave slope on how it will blend better also witch will give u a fuller sound all so

and the speakers will handle a little bit more power by doing this because u can technically run them with a cleaner signal than what a xover will do, i useto get harsh highs with xovers and now its smooth as a babys ass :)

i might make a vid of my mids n highs setup to show what it sounds like

trust me its worth the time and effort running active, music will sound a ton better
