is an isolator necessary?

So, I've got the chance to get some new batteries for pretty cheap from a friend, but I'm not sure if an isolator would be of use. I have two batteries now, but they're both pretty basic batteries, and the new ones are some C & D tech batts. Now, I am planning pos and neg from the front to back and then from the two batt "bank" to the amp. I'm just wondering, because these new batts are a little more heavy duty than my current batteries, would I need an isolator to keep everything healthy or can I just hook them up the way the two I have now are wired up?

I saw another thread about this but they both I believe are deep cycle batteries so I think my situation will have a different solution.

what a battery isolator does is where if you plan on playing your radio with the engine off for a long time it keeps it from your amps getting to use the main battery so you would only drain your secondary not your main battery but to me there more of a pain in the butt especially when your trying to charge all your battery's so pretty much if your gonna only play your radio with the engine on or only play your radio with the engine off for a few minutes then you don't really need it
