The alt is a 190a LoadBoss I bought from eBay last year. Not bad for the price, at first I thought it was about the same as the factory alt, but after I got my 5.0K I could tell a difference. And yeah I have learned so much from here also, just reading through everyone's build logs and picking up ideas and tips along the way. That's what makes this such an awesome site, gobs of wonderful information! I have learned the most from Steve and his projects, but I pick up tips everywhere! And man trust me, you have skills, no pity votes here. I can almost promise you that if you keep going, you will eventually win SOTM. Your attention to detail is second to none. And that's what it takes, that is what a lot of people don't have: Patients and persistence. Just keep that awesome work coming, and keep taking pics, and it will pay off in more ways than one! Well, before I got the 5K, my LoadBoss went out, so I sent it back for repair, and re-installed my factory alt. When they sent it back, at first I just left the factory in, since I didn't think there was much difference. But then I got my 5K, and the voltage drop was bad, down into the 11's. So I switched back to the newly repaired LoadBoss, and it made a difference. Now it don't drop below 12v. But I still need a better battery bank, I hope to get three XS D3100's, and an XS D5100 in the next month or two. So yeah, you should notice a difference when you get your new alt.
