At least you're trying to learn before just jumping into it.

16+ volts is quite possibly the worst thing in car audio IMO ever.

True :)

What about clipping? lol, jp

Can't clip it if you can't get your shit To Turn on when you need it to.

I hear owners hummer is having problems, cricket is having problems as well, 16+ just isn't meant for daily vehicles which a lot of people are seeming to do/want to do

16v causes grass fires. but dont worry too much. we have a guy to put those out.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

That REALLY sucks for them. Ive thought about a 14v system once or twice, but your post made my mind do a complete 180 lol

Lol @ skittles.

Also, I'm sure there are people who have ha success with them daily, but it's just not worth the hassle IMO.

Dude up in Indy at slamolOgy last year with the "boomvada" couldn't get his shit to turn on last year for his first run.

Oh, I bet people have been successful..no doubt. I don't think the risk would be worth it..to me atleast (because I have a Sundown 3k- a discontinued $1000 amp with no warranty FTL)

Idk whether I'd be more embarrassed or pissed if that happened to me

The amp will handle it.

It's the system ( alt ) that id be worried about.

Only way i would do it would be to have a dual or triple alt setup with 1 being a dedicated 12 volt alternator and the other 2 for JUST the audio portion.

Nah, no thanks lol. That's going way over the budget. IF I were to do a 14 or 16v setup, I'd probably do what you suggested
