I am purchasing a VW GTI very soon and am planning on throwing some 10s into it. Was it hard to remove your driver/passenger seats to install the fatmat? TeejayBee Posted May 20, 2011 Author Report Posted May 20, 2011 no its very easy to remove everything in a vw very few clips on the doors seats use a 12point "torx head" go to napa auto ans say you need a 3cubbed 12 point and they will know what you mean its better to get that then bitch your bolts up , and yes the rabbit and gti are the same just two different engines and gti comes in 5/6 speed manual rabbit is 5spd just read this part WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR SEATS OUT AND UNPLUG THE AIRBAG SENSOR PLUGS DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT TURN THE CAR ON KEEP THE KEYS INSIDE THE HOUSE. or your airbag light will come on even if you plug everything back in dealer told me that thats the trick for us guys who do this shit, idk what they are gona charge me to reset it but im gona wait till inspection time to get that done next year lol
