I kinda thought I was right in the "normal" range for small hatchbacks at 53 hz, but if yours peaked at 42 hz, maybe I was wrong! I'm sure the wall changed the peak as well. Fecupe2001, we are gradually learning about these subs, and like you said, they can handle a lot more than rated. They claim 500 RMS each, so I figured 3000 RMS would be good......you know, we can keep the gains low, not stress the amps, and just have fun with no worries. Well, we CAN do that, but........ these subs seem to be begging for more power. We have considered adding a couple more AP1500.1 amps, but then we would be at 2 ohms with each amp. Not where they make their best power. So we are undecided as to what to do. Keeping our eyes open for a couple of larger amps as we speak. I'll PM you my email, and I sure appreciate it! ShooterK2 Posted April 26, 2011 Author Report Share Posted April 26, 2011 It's probably silly, but I first started figuring out that they would handle more power when my son made that video. You can see that the subs aren't moving that much, yet it's pretty loud and the car sounds like it's falling apart around you. We are gonna have to invest in some deadener some day.... It's good to know that you've played around with the 1500 series enough to know that they will take some abuse. I started with a powerbass 1500.1 , changed to hifonics 2608D and then went with the Cadence C6 , as long as you don´t clip the subs, they can take A LOT of abuse, i built a car with a pair of 1512´s and we got a Soundstream XXX4000.1 for them, subs start smelling a little bit after 2 minutes of full tilt and abuse, but they sure can take the abuse man, you have great subs right there, and believe it or not, i even prefer the 1500´s before the 2500´s series, i have used both of them and i was WAY more impressed by the 1510´s rather than the 2512´s i use right now!!
