New guy, new lvl4 12. Need box help.

Recommended Posts

I'd stick around 2 - 2.5 cubes with pretty much RMS power

Thanks for the input!

Does it make a difference which way I mount the port? Does it have to be on the same wall as the sub itself? These are things I don't know has a bearing on performance.

I would do sub back and port back.

Also,

The sidewall isn't the first number. That's how wide the tire is. the 2nd number denotes the height/profile of the tire. And the third numbe is inch size.

So if it's 245/40/18 then it's 245 millimeters ( I think that's the unit they measure in ) wide 40 millimeters tall, and 18"s in diameter.

Right, the first number denotes tire width in mm. The second number is the ratio of width that the sidewall is high. So, a 345/40 would have almost a 5.5" sidewall. My 245/40 have a 3.86" sidewall. That's an overall diameter difference of 4"

I would do sub back and port back.

No it wouldn't hurt.

May help. If your seats fold down, you could seal everything off from the trunk. If you wanted to port through the rear deck, you could make mounts for the awroports out of MDF to bolt them down and secure them.

You have a PM coming!
