id like to see how this goes since it is an older vehicle. I would think that you might get a stronger ignition from the coil and a stronger spark to the plugs. but that would make me think you would get worse gas millage because

you are useing more gas when getting the bigger spark. if that makes sense its late lol.

More spark means more efficient fuel burn because there is more spark doesn't mean there is more fuel injected to be burned

ok yea that makes sense. then it seems like you would waste less gas per spark. im not sure it would be that big of a difference though. I could just mean a more efficient/consistant spark resulting in better gas mileage. But like 95_1500 said you could fry some things.
