Chamois
Hey guys I got a question about my setup, I think its my voltage. I have a temporary system right now. (2) Audiopipe TSVR12 Dual 4ohm Subs Audiopipe 1000watt Mini Series amp When I wire my subs to 1ohm to my amplifier I get sound cutout from the Amp to the subs. But when I have them wired in 4ohm they are fine. Is this bc my voltage is dropping so much? Quote 2006 Saab 9-3 2.0T

Guest
the amp could be going into protect mode. does the light on the amp always stay green or does it switch to red whenever the sound cuts out?
speedball1978
sounds like a faulty amp
Chamois
There are no protection lights going on. And when the amp cuts out, the interior accent lightsand headlights dim ALOT at the same time that's why I think its a voltage problem? Does anyone agree Quote 2006 Saab 9-3 2.0T
BeAlLsTaR13
If you have a dmm, check voltage at the battery when it cuts out, and see what the voltage is at the amp when it cuts out I'm pretty confident that you may just have a terrible ground Quote Team Sundown Audio**CURRENT** -- 2012 Scion tC Build Click Here **OLD** -- 2002 Pontiac Grand AM Build Click Herecheck them out, slap me a comment2002 Pontiac Grand AM SE 2.2l 4 cylinder ecotec.-------------------------------------------------------------------Head Unit - Alpine CDA-9887Subs - 2x Z 12 v.2s - v.3 + NS Soft partsAmplifier - Sundown Audio SAZ-3500DEnclosure - 3.33 Cubes tuned to 34.66hzFront Stage - JBL P660c 6.5" ComponentsRear Deck - Powerbass 4xl 6.5" Mid-RangeFront Stage Amplifier - Sundown Audio SAX-100.4DWires - Kicker Hyperflex 1/0, KnuKonceptz 1/0, Knu 4 and 8 Gauge, Kicker RCAsElectrical - 275 AMP DC Power H/O Alternator, XS Power S3400, XS Power D2700Videos - http://www.youtube.com/user/BeAILsTaR13-------------------------------------------------------------------
Chamois
But how would a bad ground make all my lights dim Quote 2006 Saab 9-3 2.0T

BeAlLsTaR13
But how would a bad ground make all my lights dim Bad ground can cause your amp to be inefficient as fuck, your amp is pulling from the same exact electrical as the rest of your car is seeing Quote Team Sundown Audio**CURRENT** -- 2012 Scion tC Build Click Here **OLD** -- 2002 Pontiac Grand AM Build Click Herecheck them out, slap me a comment2002 Pontiac Grand AM SE 2.2l 4 cylinder ecotec.-------------------------------------------------------------------Head Unit - Alpine CDA-9887Subs - 2x Z 12 v.2s - v.3 + NS Soft partsAmplifier - Sundown Audio SAZ-3500DEnclosure - 3.33 Cubes tuned to 34.66hzFront Stage - JBL P660c 6.5" ComponentsRear Deck - Powerbass 4xl 6.5" Mid-RangeFront Stage Amplifier - Sundown Audio SAX-100.4DWires - Kicker Hyperflex 1/0, KnuKonceptz 1/0, Knu 4 and 8 Gauge, Kicker RCAsElectrical - 275 AMP DC Power H/O Alternator, XS Power S3400, XS Power D2700Videos - http://www.youtube.com/user/BeAILsTaR13-------------------------------------------------------------------
