I would look at your enclosure first. I love these budget subs. Or are you wanting something uber cool other people don't see often? Possibly a DC level 2. I would like to have something different, as I am tired of kicker, JL, pioneer, kenwood, MTX, Alpine, etc. I want a SA 12 since I am a big fan and live close to the guys back home but it's a little bit out of my budget. As for the box, right now I have a standard ported 12 box sitting around (one from best buy or something) but I would probably end up building my own ported box or sealed box. But again, I just want something with the most SPL that is $150 shipped. I am looking at the Audioque 2.5 12 or a old school Orion xtr pro 12. The SA is definitely out of your range, but a lot of great subs are too, and just by a little. Save up just a little bit more, you'll be MUCH happier with a great sub as opposed to a cheap sub right now. Or pm someone here for a DC level 2. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

Make sure you build a nice enclosure for it, don't skimp out and use a cheap prefab from bestbuy. It will handle 500 watts nicely, and you can always upgrade the amp later if need be. I was fortunate enough to sit in one of the owners cars since we live near each other. He had 4 nightshade 18's in his older suburban. So I guess the way to go is a SA 12?
