Box help for a hatchback for Lvl 2 12s

Recommended Posts

So when you guys say port area, you just mean the width by height not width by height by length. And is the port calculator on the 12 volt fairly accurate (I have a mac so i cant use torres box calc)?

id do 37"W x 13"D x 18"H. box comes out to 3.1 cubes net after displacements.

port should be 11.5"H x 4"W x 25.25"L tuning comes out to 36hz. :drinks:

^do this. i designed it on the12volt.com.

It'd actually be a little smaller and tuned a little higher since you didn't account for sub displacement...like 2.82ft^3 with a tuning just under 38hz.

See I put 2.8 for the box size on the port calculator because dc's website says 1.25 per sub and I think it is .14 for the woofer displacement. So do I need to make the box a little bigger to account for the space the port takes up or should I leave it at 2.8

I appreciate your patience and help. I can do sealed boxes all day but when it comes to ported I feel like ripping my hair out.
