Sub bottoming out? Box too big?

Recommended Posts

when you tune so low like that the "upper" low bass really suffers and music hardly every goes below like 37 or so unless you are riding around listening to 15hz test tones IMO it is pointless to tune below 32-33 and that is even pretty low if i ever build another simple ported box i wont go below 35

Btw that was the first person. Ever banned by me while dropping a deuce. Feel privileged

Didn't read above but I have a had lvl 4 15s for a while, they like 3.25-4 cubes, tuning no lower than 30hz. 33 or 34 was the butter zone for lows for me.

Im tuned to 38 but i peak at 28 box positio really helps with tunning

Well I've always had good luck with sub back/ port back. minus the rattles lol. Would there be an advantage with a sub up port back??

Also, how do you peak out at 28hz when tuning is so diff? Does it have to do with any type of freq with the vehicle? Any when you say peak out you mean loudest correct?

I'm going to try 3.5cuft @ 35hz. Hopefully this box will be its final home!

Have you tried sub up port back?

Yeah, on a box that was 4cubes at 44hz. (Some guy made it for me on here claiming it was 30hz.). I punchced the #'s in the calc and it came out to be 44hz with about 8in port! Ahh!

I didn't know at the time, I'm still learning.
