I know DC and Mech make good product but my jeeps not even worth a $550 alternator. I'd rather just go cheap for now until I getr my new vehicle. Anything 150+ for $200 or less would work ANYTHING. My jeep is worth maybe $1500 due to age/mileage and I put that into it so far with system etc. I'm selling it this summer to get a Tahoe and if I spend $550 on an alternator I'd be getting robbed. Not only that I dont agree with charging that much in the first place. I think it might have a better chance of fitting in your Jeep since it isn't an import. Thats all I could think of around your price range.
