michigancapri92 Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 ok so i relocated my key into the center console of my car and at night its hard to see the key hole and i got these single led lights and i want to hook them up to the car so that they are always on, i hooked them up to a 10.8V drill battery and 2 of them read 41.2 om my DMM i think it was 41.2 milliamps the dmm was set to 200m, would that be to much of a current draw on my car? LVL4JEEP Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Too much imo. 25-30milliamps parasitic draw with vehicle off. is a rule of thumb per gm. I don't think a LED draws that much though. Unhook the led's and see what your draw is without them. Hook em up and see what it is with em. If it ups 1-2mA ur fine..
