Alternator Going Bad

Alright just recently i started to notice changes in my voltage at idle and while driving. this past week i started my car and began to back out and turned my lights on and my vehicle sputtered and died out, thought it was weird and went on my way. Then i noticed that when i was at idle with my lights on my voltage would be at 13.6 with no music playing which before i could be at idle with my heater and lights on and still be at 14.0. Then today while playing music i was consistently dropping into the 12's at a moderate listening level while driving, which before i would not drop below 13.4-5 full tilt at idle. but other than that while driving and at idle with with no music playing i sit between 13.8-14.1 depending on how warm my car is. I am certain my alt is going out, but are there anything else i should check? And how long before it will shit the bed?

and btw my rear battery rests between 12.8-13.1

Just had the same problem, found out that one of my batteries was pretty much dead had it charged and things are for the most part back to normal. I would start by checking the voltage on your battery or batteries, check the output on your alt with a voltage meter, check your belt for ware belt might be slipping.
