Itsd EASY to run any voltage.. keep stock alt get a second alt with adj regulator vcm etc.. This will give you a completely seperate charging system you could run 100V.. get a bank of 16V batts 14V batts whatever you wanna run int he back.. make sure your amp can handle what you are going to run... turn up your adj regulator or VCM to suit what your batts need. 14V batts usually like 16.8... easy as that.. my DC alts can handle 24V... no stepdown needed... I want to run my sub amps at 16v only (soundstream 15000d and 6500d) so ill get around 21000 watts Rms to my four x3 18's. But I don't want 16v going to my mids and highs!
