michigancapri92 Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 ok just got a wire harness for a 96' nissan altima and the radio i have is a Panasonic CQ-RX100U, on the harness there is dimmer possitive and dimmer negative and the radio has no dimmer wire so i am going to omit those wires i think, the harness also has an unlabled Black and white stripe wire and i assume that is the ground, and the last thing is that the car has a power antenna and there is no wire on the radio for a power antenna, how would i hook that up to make work again, the last thing i would like to know is do i need a dash kit for a single din radio for a 96' altima and if so which one do i need? i have this dash kit American International ND-K710 Mounting kit and it doesnt look like the right thing, any and all help would be GREAT!!! The illumination wire dims the stereo screen or illuminates buttons when you turn your headlights on, the antenna wire is a blue wire that is also called the "remote" wire, use that to turn on your amps. Edit: Search eBay for a 96 altima wire harness and mounting kit. They sometimes come together with an antenna adapter. Sounds like you have the wrong harness. bokeson Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 the packaging for the wire harness should say what that black w/ white stripe wire is, if you still have it. I'm not sure about the radio, and as far as the dash kit goes i would assume that you would need one. try out the one you have before you go buy one.

michigancapri92 Posted May 15, 2011 Author Report Posted May 15, 2011 thats the wire harness and dash kit i have but the hole is super tiny like it needs to be cut or something uploading a picture soon, and for the power antenna would i just hook that up to the remote cuz the wire harness also has an amp turn on and a power antenna, could i just splice the power antenna into the remote? As for the antenna if it is a power antenna (it goes up when you start the car) you can wire it to either your "power antenna" wire or your "remote" wire, either or it doesn't matter. You will also have to connect an adapter from the antenna to the HU for a signal.
