so i was thinking about knowing what to get so i can be able to test everything in my set-up. test as in how many current does my amp take, and how many watts is give to the sub. what my final impedance after rise. any math equation involve? anything that include in a bench test, i really want to know so i can have an idea how much power i actually have than reading how many watts the amp is rated for.

How do the Japanese feel about bass?

You know that since 03/11/11

Progene? I just saw that stuff on CNN. They said it makes your junk shrink all up. lol.

im pretty sure the op wont even notice if it gets even smaller.

a digital multi meter, AC/DC clamp meter, oscope to set your gains would help there is a lil math involved to find rise and RMS

id have to look it up though

edit: your in houston? im in league city were not to far frome each other

in a bench test, the amp is on your work bench. usually hooked up to a nonreactive load.

for clamping your amp you need what ricky said. just look up ohms law for the math equations.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

found this post abouth calcualtiong box rise and finding rms power from your amp

hope this helps

Correct you need an AC clamp meter and a dmm. You will need to measure the AC voltage output going to each of your subs or if they're bridged just the wires going into the amp. Once you get the AC voltage you will need to find the AC current. You do this by clamping the negative wire going to the set of speakers. I'll give you an example.

You clamp your wire and get 38.6 amps of current

You probe the + & - wires and get 61.7 volts

Next you would take the 61.7 volts and multiply the 38.6 by it to find your MAX power which would be 2381 watts

Next to find out your impedence rise you would divide the voltage 61.7 by the amperage 38.6 which would be 1.59 ohms

So if you were to have a nominal or starting resistance of .5 ohms you would have a rise of 1.09 ohms, but would have an overall reactive load of 1.59 ohms

wow makes a lot of sense. i always thought about the math equation is a bit difficult. thanks for the help guys.

EDIT: on the clamp meter, and ddm, would you guys recommend using radio shack clamp and ddm? i happen to work at radio shack and get 50% off discount on home brands

no problem :drinks:

i would probally use a DMM from there but id get a Clamp meter from sears or something a good AC/DC clamp meter
