LVL4 15's with Lvl 5 upgrade in my o'7 impala, box is rite at 6 cubes net tunned to 32 with four four inch aeros ( on the small side i know) but they sound great . When i was building the box i was going to put six four inch aeros in it but just couldn't get that many in, i have the subs firing into the backseat and the ports through the rear deck and just didn't have enough room for the six there. i know i can get these sounding even better than they already do. i need more port so i was wondering if could replace the aeros with a slot port to give the added port that i need without building another box? I have no experience with slot ports so i am going to need some help with this from someone who knows what there doing, I want to upgrade to Xls and when i do i will go ahead and build a new box but for rite now i'm trying to work with what i have. I have 4" from top of box to the rear deck , aeros are partly external would have to do the same with new port. I have 36" W x 27.5" D and like i said 4" from top of box to rear deck. -Hobby- Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 The areos take up less airspace than a slot port would. The slot port would also be larger because your going to need more sq in of port to do what an aero port does with less sq in. Your already on the small side as far as your net cubes are concerned. Would be better off designing a new box because your net cubes are gonna take a hit when you try to put a slot port in that thing.

If you only have 4 inches from top of box to rear deck your not gonna be able to get a long enough port for a low tune unless you sacrifice a bunch of port area.
