Problem with Hifonics ZXI 80.4

Where to start, well i guess listing the equip is a good place lol

My friend has a '99 nissan maxima 4 door.

1 hifonics ZXI 80.4 4 channel amp

1 Verge (crap) 12" subwoofer

1.75 cubic ft box.

So heres the problem. simply the sub doesnt play.

now ive done some diag.

1. The amp lights up and is not in protect mode.

2. The sub plays fine when i connect it to my bench amp

3. The sub used to play fine until i guess he connected a rockford fosgate p2 12 with 1 blown coil.

4. The ground, turn on wire, and + wire are all fine and read ~13v as they should.

5. I thought maybe there was a problem with signal actually getting to the amp so i pulled my rca to headphone out of my room and plugged it directly into the inputs on the amp and played music through my phone.

6. No matter what channels i use, i cant get the sub to play at all.

I would just pass it off as a bad amp but when i switch the hpf/lpf switch, the sub does make a small pop if you will.

I wanted to see what you guys thought.

Since you've already figured out the h/u and rca cords are fine its either the speaker wire, amp or sub thats left to rule out. Try the sub on something else that is in known working order, check that the amp is putting out voltage with a DMM on the speaker outputs and check the the speaker wire isn't crushed, cut or damaged in any way.
