Sammitch0
So I just went out to my jeep and pushed down on my cone (I do it all the time tom ake sure its in running order.) It makes a creaking sound whenever I do this (has been since I built my new box.) It almost sounds like rubber creaking, if I do it enough it eventually stops but if I go back the next day or hours later it'll do it again. I dont think its tinsel touching since it doesnt do that free air I checked the spider/dustcap and they're intact I basically went over everything and remounted the sub. Didnt seem to do it with the subwoofer out of the box, could this be bad? It could just be the surround and spiders unstiffening after sitting, it almost sounds like it concidering it stops im just hoping its not something worse. Skullz
Does it effect performance? Is it audible? Provided none of the above apply there isn't much you can do but keep playing it till something does happen, as long as it doesn't get worse you should be fine to continue using it. -Hobby-
Stop pushing on the cone. Problem solved. Seriously, if it sounds good when its playing and you cant hear any weird noise coming from it when its playing I wouldnt worry about it. Skullz
They might have a used a bit more CA on the surround and its probably sticking past the basket inside where the surround is and sticking to it, next time you have it out just take your finger and feel up near the surround and see if you can feel excess CA glue there. Other than trying to push the excess out if there with your fingers i wouldn't try to remove it with any types of tools for fear of damaging the sub.
