Quick Question on Ports...

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, just a quick question to verify what I am thinking. My box is 16" deep...torres is telling me I need a port 22" long for my desired tuning. I do not want to build an L-port though. So, could I make two slot ports with the same hieght and width but at 11" long and still have the same tuning? I can do an L-port if I have to, but in common sense it seems this would work...I mean, I still have the same sq/ft of port area.

Not sure if i get what your saying but

say if your are saying you have a 4x4 port to 22" long and split it to 2 2x4 ports you'll still need 22", technically a little more because of your.. technical stuff.

and if your saying split it to 2 4x4 ports and make it 11" long its gonna be tuned alot higher.

yeah no way off

you cant cut the port length down like that. you can do that with the port area but not the length

so yeah dumb theory. good thing you asked

someone get in on this... I'm looking to build a box sealed over the req. size ... But I plan to port it with aeros later on... But if I can do what OP is asking then I can build that too....

Pioneer Premier P880PRS ll Front Stage: US Acoustics 4060 - Random speakers currently ll Sub Stage: Crescendo BC3500D - 15" Xcon sealed @ 3.28 cubes ll Electrical: - Kinetik HC1800(front) NEW***DieHard P-2(rear)

beaker- I know this sounds like a lot of anime bullshit, but it is true.
